Transformation – new patterns of domesticity

Transformation, both as a way of life and form implies an evolving understanding of the relationship between affordable housing and a more extended understanding or more integrated understanding of a neighborhood. There is a changing understanding of how we might live inside our dwellings if the culture of food around which we organize our everyday lives is really transformed it is richer as we suggest new alternative ways of food preparation and consumption that are more sensitive to seasons, sustainable and economical. We no longer look at the idea of cooking as something that belongs to the woman of the house.

In fact, with the change in lifestyle and working patterns, new patterns of domesticity are observed. As the workplace gets more domesticated and a part of home becomes a remote working place, the kitchen plays a unique role in the changing dynamic of form, function and spatial organization. The formal awareness of how we juxtapose things along the viaduct allows us to think about gaining value from the presence of the viaduct and the sort of structure of spaces with the freedom of light and air on top, we start to look at this as a set of condition. The noise, the distribution of services, possibility of expanding opportunity comes not only from looking at it from a point of view of residential environments.
