Diving Into The Pool

A Note From T H E D I R E C T O R O F O P E R A T I O N S
There is a slight chill in the air which means September is here and the pool has closed for 2021.
Yes, I am a little sad as well, although I look back and it does make me happy that we were able to
operate all summer long without any interruptions. I am also happy that our spring projects came
to fruition and were well received. This included our very well-used playground for the younger
ones. ( Ok, maybe the sandbox was a bit messy but hey, they are kids right? Plus it was Rachel's
idea not mine ) Our expanded deck behind the diving board, as well as the north side, was very
much needed especially on some weekends. With this expansion, we did purchase 24 more
umbrellas that were all utilized.
The new and improved Harbor Café saw an increase in business and the Pool Bar did very well
this summer. (Thank you to our Happy Hour Swimmers). Mid-season we were able to eliminate
time slots for weekdays but kept them on weekends. I think this worked very well as there were
some weekends that we were at capacity
The new guest policy was also
well received, it was nice to see
some of you being able to
bring some family and friends
during the week and mornings
on weekends. For those who
were at the pool during the
week between the hours of
930a.m. and 11a.m. yes it was
a bit noisy but again they are
kids and it was camp
Camp was just about sold out this summer all 6 weeks, so if you are interested for next season,
sign up early. Speaking of signing up early, for those who wish to rejoin the pool next season
signing up early will be a good idea as this year pool memberships were at capacity.
Overall and with the feedback of many of you, I believe the season went very well. That being said,
I plan to meet with Danielle Greenberg Pool Committee Chair (Thanks to Danielle for all her help
this season) and the pool committee to discuss what went well, what we can do differently, and
how we can get better, and offer more next season.
Even though the pool is closed I will be down by the pool all September and even into October as
we are making repairs, installing a new safety cover, fixing some of the roads, etc. So, if you're
bringing the kiddies to the playground, stop by and say hello. ( no you can't just swim one lap)
Have a great fall and winter.
