CHAMBER PRESIDENT’S LETTER The Harwood Heights-Norridge Chamber of Commerce is proud to present its annual community guide. We hope it will serve residents as a valuable source for finding businesses, schools, churches, organizations and governmental services in the area. We also hope it will serve members as a valuable means for reaching customers, promoting their business and supporting the Chamber and community. The Chamber boasts close to 100 members. It has hosted many events, promoted special shopping days within the community and revamped its website. This year promises to be exciting with even more events to plan, special guest speakers at Chamber meetings, and much, much more. Together, the Chamber and its members, strive to improve themselves, each other, and the Chamber as a whole. However, this is only possible through the time and participation of its members. To those businesses and organizations who are already members of the chamber; thank you for your support. I would also like to take this opportunity to give special thanks to the Chamber’s officers: Warner DeJulio, Jimmy Mougolias, Julia Jensen-Smolka and Mark Fritsch. For those of you who have not yet joined, please take this as a personal invitation as we strive to improve our community as well as the businesses that are located within it. HARWOOD HEIGHTS MAYOR’S WELCOME Dear Members, Future Members and Visitors of our Community, The Village of Harwood Heights offers a small-town atmosphere with easy access to the Chicago metropolitan area. We are in close proximity to O’Hare Airport, Kennedy Expressway, Village of Norridge, and Chicago City sites and events that presents us with a prime destination to visit. It is truly an “Island in the City.” We have a Comprehensive Plan and updates to our Zoning and Building codes with an overall vision and detailed plan for our future offering development opportunities to welcome retail growth. Our financial strength is stable with an A+ rating by Standard and Poor’s. We welcomed many new businesses to our community and look forward to providing more in the near future giving our residents and visitors many options for retail and restaurant preferences. The Harwood Heights-Norridge Chamber of Commerce plays an important role in supporting our local businesses. These women and men with varying wisdom and experience create a network that supports a “business friendly environment” that encourages economic development and stability for the residents of our community. Join us as we continue to form a partnership between residents, businesses and neighboring communities enabling an opportunity for future growth. Residents are encouraged to support our local businesses that will, in turn, continue to contribute to the economic stability of the village. Sincerely, Mayor Arlene Jezierny Village of Harwood Heights

NORRIDGE MAYOR’S WELCOME Dear Residents, The Village of Norridge is only two square miles in area and has almost 15,000 residents. The Village of Norridge location to Chicago and all the expressways makes it an outstanding location for businesses and residents alike. Norridge remains a great place to live and raise your family. The Village completed a major expansion at the Harlem Irving Plaza. Target and K-Mart feature produce areas in their stores to give residents more shopping options. The Village of Norridge is driven heavily by its sales tax revenue which makes up more than 70 percent of its annual revenue. I am committed to developing available properties and bringing new jobs to the Village. So after this long winter, take a couple of shopping days and support the local retailers and help keep your real estate taxes and local fees the lowest in the state.
