Low-cost Housing
The project is to design low-cost housing with a maximum budget of 3,000 USD for construction, with a land size of 8m by 4.5m for disaster resilience families in Battambong province. The local builder at the site and material resource was encouraged to use, which could help reduce the expenses for materials transportation and offer an income for the local. Besides focusing on the budget to build this house, the house structure also gives an option to the owner for future expansion.
The idea to design this house is half closed and half open. Thus, this could be an ideal option for low-cost housing during COVID-19 since people need to stay in an open space at home more and start doing things from home.
This house has an open space on the ground floor with one bedroom and a balcony on the upper floor, which is suitable for a small family. The owner can expand the house by adding a wooden or brick wall for the ground floor and more walls on the balcony.
