Animal Biology

Hi Lawrence, I’m Abigail and I’m studying Animal Biology. It’s really easy to get to know lots of people here as it’s a small campus university which offers a close community, with two more campuses nearby. During my time here at the university, I had an amazing opportunity to go on a field trip to a South African game reserve, which has to be the highlight of my course. We’ve also been on a field trip to Dorset and several day field trips to nearby places.

Participate in practical placements and projects Benefit from our active links with local, national and international ecological and environmental organisations Learn in purpose-built facilities using the latest technologies Our Animal Biology and Biology degrees are recognised by the Society of Biology

My confidence in public speaking has really improved as a result of the presentations I have given and when I graduate, I am planning to work in animal conservation, hopefully abroad.

Television Production

Hi Lawrence, I’m Josh and I’m a recent graduate of the university. There is something about this university that made me feel immediately that I would fit in. I wanted to study somewhere where I felt my enthusiasm was matched by university lecturers. Being shown the university radio station, Tone Radio, and being told how creative we could get was a large factor in my decision to come here. Thanks hugely to the course, I’m well prepared for what the future brings. I have been lucky enough to work on the Heart radio network and I can see my future as a content/ audio producer or presenter in commercial radio.

Hi Lawrence, I’m Nikki and for the last three years I’ve been studying on the BA Graphic Design course. The first two years were good for playing with ideas, seeing how far I could push things and building up my skills. The lecturers here have always had an open door policy if you want to chat, which has helped move my ideas forward quickly. I’ve enjoyed my third year the most though, as I’ve been able to choose my own creative briefs and design work around my own interests and specialisms.

Degree Courses Theology and Religious Studies Religion, Philosophy and Ethics History and Religion, Philosophy and Ethics History

Hi Lawrence, I’m Luke and I’ve just completed my studies at the university and am thrilled to have been awarded a firstclass degree in Religion, Philosophy and Ethics. The teaching staff on my course were great and I appreciated the way that they weren’t afraid to tackle big issues in a sensitive and yet challenging way. We discussed a huge range of issues, ranging from right-to-life and euthanasia, through to the classic, ‘What is real?’ It’s taught us to be incredibly analytical and also to do the required research. The transferable skills you gain during your time at university are too numerous to count, but they include being very analytical, thinking before speaking, understanding complicated arguments and breaking them down and understanding another person’s point-of-view. One of the most memorable experiences for me, was the field trip to Cordoba and Seville. We had an amazing time and learnt an incredible amount about the area and the ‘Golden Age’ in Spain.
