Due to temperature changes during transportation and exposure to humidity, small rust stains may occasionally develop on the lid and the edges where the enamel ends. These areas, made from raw cast iron, are naturally more sensitive but pose no cause for concern. While it is not necessary to remove these stains, if you prefer to enhance the appearance of your pot, we recommend the following steps.

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 150 °C.

Step 2

Clean the Pan: Wash the pan with warm water and mild soap to remove any residue. Dry it thoroughly.

Step 5

Using heat-protective gloves, carefully remove the pot from the oven, as both the pot and lid will be extremely hot. Place the pot on a secure, heat-resistant surface, ensuring it is out of reach of children. Let it cool for approx 1 hour.

Step 3

Apply a thin layer of oil only to the affected areas of raw cast iron. Do not let any oil come into contact with the enamel surface on the outside, as this can lead to burnt stains. Use a clean cloth to wipe away any excess oil and ensure no oil touches the enamel surface.

Step 6

The stains should now be removed, and your pot is ready for use. Now it’s time to enjoy cooking with your pot! If rust issues arise in the future, you can always return to these steps. With proper care, your pot will serve you well for many years to come.

Step 4

Place the pot upside down in the oven, with the lid positioned knobside up. Leave the pot in the oven for approximately 45 minutes, checking regularly to ensure excessive smoke does not build up.
