2020 - THE YEAR THAT GAVE US PERSPECTIVE During the past year, there has been much talk about what it would mean for the

sustainability work when the entire focus and much of the resources were placed on dealing with the pandemic. A great deal of the work may have been set aside or put on hold as the pandemic was a completely new situation necessitating our attention for which we were unprepared. We’ve had to fight hard, but we’ve also worked very hard, and it has not been easy. We still choose to try to see the positive things that came out of this year. We had to find other solutions and think differently, but, above all, we gained perspective in many areas. The year 2020 gave us perspective. This may have ultimately helped us become more receptive to alternative solutions than we had previously been. At the beginning of the year, we could see that we had, according to calculations, reduced our CO2 emissions by 14% in 2019 (which of course we celebrated a great deal). 2020 was also the year in which we introduced our first Swedish-made textile collection here in Borås. As much as we want to have time to reflect on the strange year this has been, we now want to look ahead (perhaps even more so). Our plans for the upcoming year include developing our chemical work. We would like to manufacture more locally produced products, and we hope to be able to visit our partners again to work together on business matters. Overall, we can summarize that a long-term sustainability strategy and clear values have benefited us. That is, for example, why we ended the year by stopping sales at Vinga, three weeks before Christmas. This is something we have never done before and may never do again. Our focus shifted from selling to nurturing, caring for, completing and meeting standards. So much of what we stand for was threatened; employees were supposed to be able to take care of all sales. We were supposed to deliver gifts with that little extra to ensure that all recipients would get the great experience of their gift that we have worked so hard for throughout the year. This reminded us of how important it was to stand by our values and to be true to ourselves. This same applies to our strategy for sustainability work. In this, we also want to remain faithful to it, and we want to clearly express what we stand for and what we believe in. That is why we think it is so important to ask the question: What does sustainability mean to us?
