Just 20 minutes inland from Airlie Beach, you will find the charming town of Proserpine, the Heart of Country Hospitality.

Named by the explorer George Dalrymple, after Proserpina the goddess of grain and harvest, recognising the fertile qualities in the region. Since the late 1800s, cattle grazing and sugar cane have been the economic mainstays here.

COOL OFF at the Proserpine Waterpark and community pool (both free for you to enjoy).

VENTURE OFF the main street to find some beautiful stores hidden in the art-deco side streets. TAKE A TRIP to Lake Proserpine (Peter Faust Dam) for the day or stay longer at the lakeside camping facilities and try your hand at catching the holy grail of Barramundi!
