HILL INLET
At the northern end of Whitehaven Beach is Hill Inlet. As the tide shifts, the white silica sand of Whitehaven Beach combined with the blue-green hues of the inlet blends seamlessly to create a swirling fusion of turquoise colours. Hill Inlet is best viewed from up high, whether it be from the lookout at Tongue Point or on a scenic flight.

GETTING THERE
There is a wide choice of day trips to Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet, most overnight sailing trips also stop in and many self-sufficient boaties are drawn to anchor along its peaceful shores. For amazing aerial views, you might want to see Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet by seaplane, light aircraft or helicopter. BETTY’S BEACH
Nestled around the corner from the famous Hill Inlet, this hidden little cove is the perfect spot for lounging on the soft silica sands and soaking up the warm Whitsundays sun. The red rocks and cliffs against the turquoise water and stark white sand perfectly represent Australia’s diverse landscapes.
Getting to Betty’s Beach is easy. Once you’ve visited Hill Inlet Lookout and followed the trail down to the north end of Whitehaven Beach (Hill Inlet Beach), simply follow the coastline to your left until you hit some rocks. A short hop, skip and jump over the rocks lies this secluded little gem.

World-famous Whitehaven Beach stretches over 7 km along Whitsunday Island, the largest of the 74 islands in the Whitsunday group. Be sure to check out the lookout at the southern end of the beach; the walking track takes you through Australian native bush and local rainforest. When you get to the top of the short 1 km walk, the Whitsunday Islands National Park opens up before your eyes, and it is every bit as breathtaking as the famous Hill Inlet.
