Hello Folks

Our 58th Annual Manga Moana Rally was a great success despite the low number of entries. The rally started at the Plymouth International Hotel car park and took entrants on a route that had two timed sections with the timing starting away from the start point and clearly showed where the timing sections started from. The 75-mile route was over all tar sealed roads in the eastern and northern areas including the Tarata saddle and the Otaraoa road tunnel, the Bertrand Road Swing bridge and hills and valleys of Lepperton with excellent scenery. The Clubrooms were used for the lunch stop and finish of the Rally. The prize giving Dinner was held at the Plymouth Hotel on the Saturday night. Many Thanks to the staff at the Plymouth for an excellent meal and the set up for our presentations. Congratulations to member's Robert and Heather Tudor who were the overall winners of the 58th Maunga Moana winning The Castle Cup,The Findlay Cup, The Kirkby Trophy,The Bowman/Bogunda Trophy and the Colleen Moore Cup. A full list of placings is elsewhere in this newsletter.

We have now water blasted the entrance to the clubrooms and have painted the pillars and posts white and added reflecting tape to make it more identifiable especially at night when turning into the clubrooms. We have also removed and cleared all the agapanthus from the gate entry.

We welcome the following new members to our club. Patrick Frost who owns a 1963 Vanguard and Jill Emery who has a 1982 Corvette and Brian Goldsworthy who owns a 1988 Honda Motorcycle. We hope you enjoy our club. Our AGM will be held on May 18th so please start thinking of the committee positions as we have been running with three positions that did not fill this year. It’s your Club and it needs you to step up and help run the club with new blood and new ideas.
