Chairmans report What a great event the re-enactment of the 100yrs parliamentary tour was. Amazing cars and interesting folk. A lot of NZVCC Members turned up on the Monday that we have not seen at recent events. Good to see you. Lyn Wrack and a small band of willing helpers did a great job catering and parking of cars etc. in their respective places and all was as it should be at all of our events at Kiwi North. Thank You. Disappointing that Lyn did not get the response that an organiser of our event should expect. Lyn was extremely busy over the December - January period and needs to be congratulated for the fine job and extreme effort that she puts into these events. Most of you will not be aware that Lyn was the only person that kept the Parliamentary tour event alive from its inception Mike McGee is our Secretary now and his contact details will be in the newsletter any problems requests etc. please contact him ph: 022 087 2128 email: renegade542002@yahoo.com or Keith Taylor ph: 09 946 0719, or 021 168 5928. A hall subcommittee is being set up details shortly. A Special General Meeting is being called Sunday 19th March 2pm. Reason update club rules and open voting papers. Afternoon Tea provided. Your committee hopes to have events planned out till after the 2017 NVCC AGM. If any of you would like to host an event let us know as soon as possible Denise Williams has set up a bowls night at the Onerahi Bowling Club 5-30pm Thursday 16th February Onerahi Hotel car park provide own takeaways or come when you can. If this is successful I will be moving a motion at the next committee meeting to move Thursday Club nights to this venue owing to poor attendance. She has also set a run to Taiharuru Sunday 19th February 10-30am Onerahi Hotel Car park. Bring Own lunch Beach gear etc. Finally all Our Committee decisions are made with the Club's interests foremost. Have a great summer Sincerely Keith Taylor

Motorbike report The monthly run occurred on Waitangi weekend so it was surprising we had a muster at all. However five bikes consisting of a Honda, a Triumph, Moto Guzzi and 2 x 650cc AJSs’ turned out. The weather was good and we decided to go out on SH12 as far as Tangowahine and then up the Tangowahine Valley road to Pakatai. From here it was a run down the Mangakahia to Poroti for refreshments before dispersing. Once again my AJ played up deciding to blow a head gasket on the way back at the Maunu lights. Gaskets are currently unobtainable in NZ so it was a case of making some copper head gaskets, the first problem try finding some sheet copper nowadays nigh on impossible! All eyes are now turned to the National rally this weekend at Waitomo which at the time of writing doesn’t look good weather wise. Well that’s all for now, keep the rubber to the road Lofty

Just to let everyone know Lawrence Hiller and Robert Young will be on TV on Radar's Chequered Past. The show starts on the 18th Feb at 8-05 on TV 1. They can't tell us exactly when the episode is on as the order changes without notice. You will be able to see how good they are as actors. Shannon Young Editor

Dargaville doings In the afternoon of 5th Feb the Parliamentary Tour arrived in Dargaville headed up to Hardings, parking to show their cars to the public. Dargaville members helped with the parking of the Vintage Cars and the public ones and keeping eye on them as their owners had refreshment. The AP show was on 11th Feb, some members showed their cars off Seven cars went on the mid-week on the 15th we headed west out to Mt Wesley Coast Road into Mahuta Road then into Red Hill Road, made our way to Red Hill Cemetery where Leith Mckenzie gave us a talk about the work that the community had done over the years. The wind picked up and started to cool down it looked like it was going to rain. We hopped into our cars and headed to Colin and Dacia Whites for our afternoon tea, then the rain came so we all went into the car port enjoying watching the rain coming down.
