CLARKSVILLE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE VETERAN-OWNED BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT TAP HOUSE 57

By Kaitlan McLaughlin New to Clarksville’s growing list of locally-owned businesses is Tap House 57, a veteranowned, father and son business that represents two generations of local firefighters. Officially opening in late 2021, this newly established tap house is both innovative and awe-inspiring.

Co-Owners, and father and son duo, Jeremy Baker and Joseph Baker stumbled upon the idea after traveling on a beer tour across the states. Joseph shared, “Our family visited a lot of different breweries when we would go on trips and weekend travels in Tennessee. The concept was to have a platform for local and regional breweries to have a place to showcase their beers. This concept encourages people in Clarksville to stay local and drink local. The number “57” comes from the bunker number I was issued when joining the Fort

Campbell Fire Department in January 1994. Bunker numbers were used for the accountability of firefighters and equipment. Once you’re issued a bunker number it never changes unless you leave the department.”

Tap House 57 is unique in that it offers a firehouse theme, as well as local and regional craft beers. Jeremy discussed, “We have 16 taps that are all local and regional TN beers, again trying to showcase TN breweries. We are constantly rotating through different kegs, so the menu could be completely different each time a customer comes in. If a customer comes

in and doesn’t already know what they want to drink, our great staff will ask them what type of beers they like or normally drink, and then they will give recommendations besd on that information. We also have two double-door reach-in coolers that are reaching close to 150 different bottled and canned beers from all over the world. Every beer that we have is also available to go so that people may enjoy them at home.”

Since its opening, Tap House 57 has been blown away by the response and support from the local Clarksville community. “The local response has been incredible,” says Jeremy. “Everyone that comes in has always told us that they loved it and will be telling their friends and coming back.”

Jeremy goes on the say, “We are very family friendly so bring your wife, husband or kids along.” With games available to enjoy at the tables, TVs for watching the game and now trivia on Wednesdays, Tap House 57 has certainly created a fun place to bring the whole family.

Since joining the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce, Tap. House 57 hopes to utilize the resources available from being a part of such a strong network. “We ultimately want to contribute to the Clarksville, military and veteran community and think we have cumulated just the right support system to do so.”
