Steelcase Competition NEXT HUB A space for the diverse student body of NEXT University to come to gather, connect, explore and engage. The goal of the space is to provide a community lifelong learning center. The design should encourage more meaningful faculty interactions, increasing student engagement and connections to other learners.
CAFÉ-COMMONS “a dynamic space that connects people with colleagues [peers], their work, and their organization. It transforms traditional cafeteria real estate into destinations for connection, collaboration, focus and innovation”
ACTIVE LEARNING CLASSROOMS Classrooms cater to interactive learning by promoting innovation and collaboration.
Student Commons Inspired by the construction of a Bee Hive, my concept is to create a student commons that consists of adjacent spaces in the shape of hexagons. Like a bee hive, the space represents collaboration, connection and community! The space will combine art displays and student study nooks resulting in a design tailored to the needs of the students who will use the space.
With inspiration from the Honey Bee in mind, the materials selected for this project have a really raw, natural aspect to them. There is a lot of natural wood and neutral tones. This allows the art work to shine. There are accents of light yellow throughout.

Zen In Photography BLACK & WHITE ASSIGNMENT The goal for this assignment was to show how Photography could be a form meditation. My vision for the project was to transform an ordinary image into a very focused, peaceful piece of art work. Below is the original picture and the process work to get to the final set.
