In this workshop Darko will take you through the entire process of creating a CG Cinematics using Unreal Engine5. You will learn how to block out a scene using Unreal Engine’s modelling tools, establish a good composition using the cinematic camera, use custom models and model libraries to build the final scene, create cinematic lighting and add post process volume to control the final look and quality of your shot. On top of that, you will see an exclusive behind-the-scenes into the production of a short film Darko is working on.

Darko Mitev is a 3D artist from Macedonia currently working as a Lead Character Modeller in Brown Bag Films. He started his career in the VFX world, in a company called FX3X, in Macedonia, and ever since worked on many projects for various different companies like, FX3X, Video House, Brown Bag Films, Axis Animation, Alt VFX, Sehsucht, and clients like Disney, Netflix, Apple TV, Microsoft, and many more. Over the past decade, Algorithm has undergone a remarkable transformation from a casual group of friends and artists collaborating on a wide range of projects to an award-winning XR Studio with a steadfast mission to craft the most captivating experiences imaginable. This talk will delve into the fascinating journey of Algorithm, exploring the development of both the studio and the innovative technology and creativity that have enabled it to fulfil its purpose.

Daniel Staines

Daniel Staines is a founding member and Creative Director of the XR Production Studio Algorithm. With a lifelong passion for experimental art and technology, Daniel became fascinated with the potential of using animation to augment the urban environment using projection mapping and a wide range of other technologies.

In recent years, Daniel has collaborated with the talented team at Algorithm to develop multiple awarding winning immersive projects for Europe’s top venues utilizing their patent-pending technology Orbit, a tool for immersive content creation. They are also developing their own experience called Landfall with the support of Animation Ireland and Screen Ireland.
