MY EXPERIENCE IN THE FINAL PRESENTATION

Obviously this was not my first time doing a presentation. But this was the first time I had a jury who will qualify me. I was very nervous because this was a presentation in front of my own classmates, but also there was my teacher Eulises expecting the best of me and my classmate Edward. Moreover, I did not have enough time to prepare my presentation because I had a lot of things to do in this time, anyway I struggled to do the right things; I was not going to leave things to the last moment. Being in the seminar and especially in the final project was a great experience for me because I was able to see my strong and weak points. Therefore, an improvement I would like to make for the near future is been able to talk in front of a crowd without feel afraid because I was always shy, and wished to be more outgoing, but it didn't ever really bother me that much. I was terrified of speaking in front of the class.

I think Communication is also a big part of my learning experience because I will need to be able to get my ideas out by communicating well whether I am writing or speaking. On the other hand, I believe that in order to communicate effectively with the audience you have to have a well prepared presentation that will capture their attention so that you can present your ideas clearly. I believe that this presentation has offered me the opportunity to lose the fear of speaking in public and with unknown people because I did not met the professor Tatiana Rico and the other teacher. I used a good implement in my presentation because I think there is any presentation anywhere in the world where the powerful tool of PowerPoint is not being used. Though this is a great visual tool to convey your message, we refrained from just reading from the slides.

My initial feelings were of worry, stress and pressure over the amount of time we were allocated during the presentation. I had a short video about the process to prepare plantain hamburger because this was the topic of my presentation, but the teacher did not permit to show that because the idea was only talked about the topic. The teacher said that Speech is one of the 3 fundamental communication modes. The ability to communicate through effective speaking is as important to language skill development as is the ability to write effectively. For that reason, I tried to do the things correctly in this presentation and show my progress during the seminar. I really wanted to do the best while presenting my speech or talk. I think the effort and dedication was reflected in our final project because everybody gave all in this project. It was a big effort because we felt tired and need time for being relaxed.

Finally, I consider the presentation was successful and I hope it contribute with my grades because I need to finish my career and graduate. It seminar has been very hard because I have others compromise and it requires a lot of time for doing the work. Once I had finished, I felt things had gone well. I was working in my project very hard, but I knew I needed to build up my confidence. Besides, given the fact that conducting oral presentation is difficult, as a student I admit that I have several personal difficulties upon presenting that normally affect me on my presentation. I usually get nervous while presenting. This negative input is affecting me with my concentration that normally accumulate to confusions to the point of forgetting major details of the presentation. Furthermore, this problem somehow causes me to lose my confidence to continue with the discussion and makes me a less efficient speaker. Also, maintaining an interactive eye contact with my audience seems to be very difficult for me.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green Movie The Odd Life of Timothy Green is a 2012 American fantasy drama film co-written and directed by Peter Hedges and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is about a magical pre-adolescent boy whose personality and naivety have profound effects on the people in his town. I selected this movie because when I saw it with my students they liked very much, also it is a good story and has a nice reflection because we can learn many values of timothy and his life. Some of my students cried when saw the movie because sometimes it is sad and they are very sensitive, they wanted to finish watching the movie, but English class had finished and had another matter. For that reason, they talked with the math teacher and asked permission for finishing seeing the movie. I really recommend this kind of movie to see with our students, because it has a good message and they feel interested.

The film is told from the perspective of Cindy (Jennifer Garner) and Jim Green (Joel Edgerton), as they explain their experience with Timothy (CJ Adams) in an effort to persuade an adoption agency to allow the couple to adopt a child. Cindy, who works in the town's local museum, and Jim, who is employed at the town's historic pencil factory, resides in the town of Stanleyville, North Carolina. The Greens are informed by doctors that they are unable to conceive. Distraught by the news, Jim convinces Cindy to dream up their ideal child and write the child's characteristics and life events on slips of notepad paper. The couple places the notes inside a box and buries it in the backyard garden. After a thunderstorm, which seemingly affects only their property, a ten-year-old arrives at their home claiming the Greens as his parents. After finding the box they buried smashed to pieces around a large hole in the ground where they originally buried it, and finding the boy inside their house, covered in mud, they realize that the boy, named Timothy, is actually a culmination of all their wishes of what their child would be. The Greens also discover that Timothy has a startling feature: he has leaves growing on his legs.

The next day, at a family picnic, Timothy is introduced to members of his family. Timothy begins to attend school, where he meets Joni Jerome (Odeya Rush), a girl he meets during a bullying incident, with whom he begins a friendly relationship. Meanwhile, the town's pencil factory, the largest employer in Stanleyville, begins lying off its employees. Timothy convinces Cindy and Jim to design a prototype for a new pencil in an effort to keep the pencil-producing business viable. Unbeknownst to the parents, one of Timothy's leaves falls off each time he fulfills one of the qualities listed on the original slips of paper. Timothy eventually reveals to Cindy and Jim that his time of existence is short and that he will eventually disappear. Finally, the Greens' meeting with the adoption counselor concludes with Cindy presenting a letter that Timothy left them before leaving. In the letter, he explains to them what he did with each of his leaves that fell off, with a montage sequence showing each person whose life Timothy touched. After an unspecified amount of time, the adoption counselor is shown pulling up to the Greens' house in a car with the little girl who is to become the Greens' daughter.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green is an odd but beautiful rumination on what it means to be a parent. As a constructed story, it has its shortcomings. As a hazy, rosy reflection of parenthood, it's often quite emotional and encouraging. We tell our kids it's OK to make mistakes: It's how we learn, we say. But often, we don't give ourselves the same license. Truth is, parents are just as imperfect as kids, and as much as we try to teach our children the paths to walk and the pits to avoid, we're not just teaching them. We're learning too sometimes with them, sometimes even from them.

In conclusion these kinds of movies are appropriate for children and teenagers because it teach them the importance of the life and apprise their family and people who are around them. They are fortunate for having a nice family who provides them all necessary things. I consider people do not appreciate the blessings that God gives us. As such, the movie gives us a strong message about parenthood and childhood, about unconditional love and the beauty of adoption.

My weekend

Many people hold the opinion that we need to rest on the weekend. However, others disagree and state that we need to be active and do something enjoyable. I spent my weekend doing both, preparing the lesson plan for my class and spending some time with my friends. Nothing extraordinary happened last weekend. It was just like any other ordinary weekend. The weather was beautiful, sunny and warm. I got up later than usual on Saturday morning. After breakfast I went over to my friend Angelica’s house and spent some time talking with her. Angelica is a teacher of biology and chemistry; now she is pregnant. Also, we work in the same school she is my coworker and my best friend. We talked till lunch-time. Then I went home, had lunch and took an afternoon nap. Taking an afternoon nap is a pleasure that I can indulge in only on weekends. On weekdays I do not have time for it.

The rest of the afternoon I preparing the lesson plan of my class because the Monday start the class in the school, and I needed to have all ready for this day. Moreover, I had to write a composition about my weekend. It was terrible for me because I did not know what to write I continued until darkness fell I spent all my Saturday doing on-line activities and reading related topics on the Internet. So, all my Saturday was spent in front of the computer screen. After I had my bath and dinner I had bread with chocolate. After dinner I watched television until it was time for bed but, this night I could not sleep well for that reason, I called my boyfriend and we talked till late. He lives far away he works in the bank Agrario of Colombia I really love him, we have two years together. And we thought about getting married but we are still very young and we need to be completely secure with this decision.

The next day I got up at 10:00 am. On Sunday I usually stay at home and I help my boyfriend’s aunt with the cleaning. I cleaned my room and the bathroom. I don't like to tidy my room because after five minutes it looks the same messy as usual. For breakfast I had cornflakes with milk while listening to the radio Amazonia University. Then I spent the rest of the morning doing homework of my English communication seminar, I chat with my teacher Eulises about the seminar. After that, I went to the kitchen to cook the lunch. I like cooking. It is very nice when later everybody say that it was good. I made a. It was really delicious. Again I took a nap after lunch. After a nap I was free. I could go to my

bedroom and read a book. I am reading "no mendigues amor" by the padre Lineros. It is an interesting book that teaches how to not depend on anyone. I like this type of books because has a nice message.

After I had a very long day studying my boyfriend's aunt suggested that we should leave the house for some fresh air and have a meal out. We went to the mall “Exito” where we had a delicious meal. We ate a delicious sandwich Cubano and coke. In the dinner we had a chance to enjoy each other’s company in a cozy and nice atmosphere. During the week we can’t eat together because of school, work etc. but on Saturdays and Sundays we can enjoy each other’s company. In this moment I live with her here because my family live in Ibague city. We had so much catching up to do that we completely lost the track of time. It was around 8 pm when we headed home. Finally, after a little rest by the TV we watched Iron Man 2 it was the time for a bed. I need to rest and recharge my batteries before another week of hard work.

I believe Planning a great family weekend doesn't have to be expensive or elaborate. Some of the best weekend plans involve spending time in the backyard, grilling or swimming. If you love Fridays and dread Sunday nights, learn how to fill your weekend with enough activities to make going back to work on Monday morning much easier. It is a pity that it is not always weekend. But in our society there must be education and work, too. And besides that I can have fun during the week, too, or even at school.

It is so easy to plop down on the couch on a Friday night or Saturday morning and watch T.V., but falling into default activities like this will suck away the few free hours you have available during the week. Instead of doing something by default, choose to decide how your time is spent. On the other hand I consider we need to have a plan for the weekend, part of which should be setting specific hours or minutes aside for activities we want to do. Then we have to commit. Also, planning something for Sunday nights is an easy way to avoid stressing about work in anticipation of Monday morning. That can happen even when you like your job, but for people who don't like their job, Sunday night stress can be draining and sad.

A nice weekend means to me freedom, fun, relaxation. Unfortunately it passes too fast and normal life starts again all too soon. I consider that we need time for being relax and enjoy with our families because today the continuous stress cause health problems and people have the necessity to stop and take a recess with the objective to do right things. Even if there are activities that you haven't done since childhood, you can still make them part of your regular weekends. Furthermore, when I think about weekends I smile. I associate these 2 special days with freedom, a lot of free time and entertainment. I can only regret weekends don’t last longer.

My Life Story

My high school graduation In 2008 I finished my high school in the college Luis Carlos Galan Sarmiento of the city of Ibague always showing a good behavior and excellent academic performance. This was a great day for me and my family because it was the first step of my educational aims.

Moreover, I started to work as a secretary in a typography company when I had seventeen years old it was my first job because I needed to collaborate with the expenses of my study. So, I meet nice people in this place they become in my family and taught me many things relating

to the work and values such as responsibility, fellowship, friendship, respect and solidarity.

The love of my life Jose Edwin Rodriguez is my boyfriend he is from Neiva but now live in Solano CaquetĂĄ

psychology but the university did not have this program for that reason, I choose this career because there are many benefits of learning English. One advantage is you will be able to speak with confidence. Another advantage is the creation of more job opportunities, since many companies prefer applicants who can speak English.
