Arena Adidas HQ, NCR Project Size : 1,00,000 Sqft Location : Delhi NCR, India Year Of Completion : 2016-17 Principal Designer : Gensler / Brain berry Local Architect : Interics Design Consultant. Role : Lead Architect
Starting on the project, Adidas expressed the need for a workplace that would enable their cultural aspirations - fitness, movement, collaboration, experimentation - where their talent became fearless and focused on winning. Our approach was to develop a workplace where every aspect was a big, bold idea or a movement: the program was transformational, the design aesthetic was dramatic, and every element was a celebration of the work and product. This was a workplace for a tribe of talented young minds, clad in Adidas apparel daily like a uniform, focused on doing things.

The Retail office “We want the workplace to be ACTIVE! Integration of Sports into the office Is a key focus!”
“Need more storage! There’s samples, clothes and shoes all over the place. It also should be easy to access”
“It’s chaotic in the open workspace, especially when people take phonecalls - it is difficult to concentrate!”
“The new space should focus on the employee experience and comfort--simple comforts go a really long way!”
The end result is profound - the new workplace didn’t just change a single experience for the teams, it re-imagined their experience of work (focus, collaborate, socialize, learn, rejuvenate), it re-imagined their experience of play (fitness, recreation) and it re-imagined their experience of live (heath focused cafeteria, health programs, after hour gatherings, social events). Above all, with a clear focus on brand and core values, Adidas got a workplace they could truly call their own.

“The ADP CAMPUS translates the values of the brand, through interwoven Layers of design, planning, and program. The visuals and journeys across the Building culminate these ideas into a holistic experience that is infused with local culture and the universal ADP” The design brief endeavors to encapsulate the brand’s core essence as a sports and fitness powerhouse, necessitating a layout that incorporates open desking arrangements alongside abundant collaboration spaces. Gensler, the esteemed architectural firm, conceived the notion of a playground as the overarching interior concept, artfully fusing elements of an urban cityscape with a sports-inspired aesthetic. The judicious selection of materials, such as exposed concrete, metallic cages, and wooden OCB boards, imbues the interior space with a wealth of character and charm. Selected Work @ Gensler

SCB 90 MG, Mumbai Project Size : 46,000 Sqft Location : Mumbai, India Year Of Completion : 2023 Principal Designer : Gensler I Chirag Thakkar Role : Project Architect
The Standard Chartered Bank building at 90 MG Road is a significant part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was constructed in 1868 by architects Scott & McClelland and was originally known as the ANZ Grindlays Bank. The construction of this building took place shortly after the collapse of the “Cotton Boom,” a period when many companies faced bankruptcy. The architects designed this building in the Neo-Classical style, featuring a pediment facade adorned with six Corinthian columns. The exterior materials used include buff basalt and Porbandar Limestone. In terms of design philosophy, the goal is to preserve the architectural integrity of the building with minimal intervention. The approach is to create open fit outs in line with Standard Chartered Bank’s requirements and centralize meeting rooms and phone booths using simple materials that seamlessly blend with the overall space. To manage heat load and reduce long-term power consumption, underraised floor cooling has been implemented. The arrival space, characterized by double-height ceilings, offers a grand experience, and biophilic elements have been incorporated to enhance workplace wellness. This approach demonstrates a thoughtful balance between preserving the historical and architectural significance of the building while meeting the contemporary needs and sustainability goals.
