FIS SnowKidz Award 2014 As part of the ‘Bring Children to the Snow’ campaign, the FIS Member National Ski Associations (full and associate members) are invited to submit their projects to compete for the ‘FIS SnowKidz Award’. This award is presented every second year and aims to recognize and promote the best examples of bringing children to the snow, in varying national circumstances. The FIS SnowKidz Award 2014 will be granted at the 49th International Ski Congress in Barcelona (ESP). For more information, visit www.snowkidz.com/award. Regulations
The regulations for the ‘FIS SnowKidz Award’ are defined as follows:
1. Eligibility
Only FIS Member National Ski Associations are eligible to apply. Maximum of one project may be submitted by a National Ski Association. A single project may only be submitted once for the FIS SnowKidz Award. A nation that has already won a FIS SnowKidz Award may only re-apply if they have a conceptually different project. Only ongoing projects or completed projects, which by the application deadline are not older than two years are eligible.
2. Application
The application form has to be filled out in English and submitted electronically. The form is available for download as a Word document at www.fis-snowkidz.com/award and must be submitted as a Word document per email to snowkidz@fisski.com or alternatively, the online form at www.fis-snowkidz.com/award/form may be used. Supplementary documents such as a time plan or budget may be also submitted per email in English and in electronic form.
3. Evaluation Criteria The Award submissions will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria: First priority: A1. Successful initiative led by a National Ski Association: The project must demonstrate quantifiable success in bringing youngsters to the snow for the first time. For example, a ski club training camp is not a valid project. A2. High project quality: The project must have been well-planned and implemented with a structured evaluation afterwards.

A3. Long-term nature of snow enthusiasm: The project should show that it created long-term interest in snow activities among younger generations. A4. Transferability to other National Ski Associations: The project should be suitable for implementation by another National Ski Association with relative ease. Second priority: B1. Commercial viability: The project should be able to attract support from various sources and not rely on support from the National Ski Association or FIS. B2. Added promotional value (tangible or intangible): The project helps the National Ski Association grow interest in snow sport activities through positive publicity. 4. Evaluation and election An awards jury, consisting of three members named by the FIS President, will select eight projects for the final round; at least three of these projects must represent the so-called developing ski nations. The nominated projects will be presented to the FIS Council during the Congress Week. The Council will determine the three main award winners. The FIS Council reserves the right to award an additional prize(s) recognizing a project(s) with special merits. 5.
