ultiple American agencies have accepted millions of dollars from China Daily, a Chinese state-run news agency, to publish Beijing’s propaganda. The information, revealed in a recent disclosure filed with the Department of Justice (DoJ), lends context to Chinese Communist Party (CCP) general secretary Xi Jinping’s recent speech calling for the creation of a more “lovable” portrayal of China. According to the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), China Daily is obliged to report on its spending activities in the United States twice a year. China Daily, which registered with FARA in 1983, was among a dozen Chinese media outlets that the U.S. State Department designated as foreign missions of the People’s Republic of China in February last year. As a result, the companies were forced to register their American properties and employees with the department. According to the disclosure, China Daily paid over 1.6 million dollars in

Another one million dollars was paid to outlets such as Houston Chronicle and Chicago Tribune to print copies of China Daily publications. The Washington Free Beacon reports that many of the newspapers receiving China Daily funds are currently struggling financially. Boston Globe and Chicago Tribune have not made a profit for several years, and Los Angeles Times furloughed some of its workers last year due to low ad revenues during the COVID-19 pandemic. China Daily reported total expenditures of more than 5.5 million dollars for the six-month period, including 4.5 million dollars in operational expenses and 1 million dollars for printing publications distributed through American media outlets. The company reported total revenues of over 5.6 million dollars, of which only around $255,000 was accounted for by advertising and subscription income. The remaining 5.35 million dollars was

Biden Administration Tables Broad Approach

to Counter ‘Domestic Terrorism’ By Todd Crawford Vision Times

O

n June 15, the Biden administration introduced plans to address domestic terrorism in the U.S. with a policy titled “National Strategy For Countering Domestic Terrorism” which seeks to address the threat with increased lawenforcement funding, the promotion of civic education and improved digital literacy. “It is critical that we condemn and confront domestic terrorism regardless of the particular ideology that motivates individuals to violence,” the policy reads. The document states that domestic violent extremists (DVEs) are motivated by a wide range of ideologies and

“pose a threat to the Homeland in 2021.” Claims of fraud in the recent general election, the breach of the U.S. Capitol and the COVID-19 pandemic coupled with conspiracy theories are said to “almost certainly spur some DVEs to try to engage in violence this year.” The 32-page document defines “domestic terrorism” as “activities that involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; appear to be intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population, to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion, or to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and

occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States.” Enhancing domestic terrorism-related research and analysis, illuminating transnational aspects of domestic terrorism, preventing domestic terrorism recruitment and mobilization to violence and disrupting and deterring domestic terrorism activities are key pillars of the policy.

Funding the police

While many in the U.S. are calling for the defunding of local police, this policy seeks increased funding for the Justice Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). “All Americans deserve federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement that approach their critical tasks without any racial bias or any

other biases.” reads the policy. Proponents for defunding the police were successful in many communities in 2020 but not all. $840-million in direct cuts to local police forces were realized while 26 major cities experienced an increase in police funding. The policy strives to build community and to address domestic terrorism by ensuring “critical partners” have the resources required to counter the threat. This includes, “state, local, tribal, and territorial governments.”

BLM and Antifa absent from policy

The policy focuses on acts by political extremists, particularly those motivated by the right wing. It references historical terrorist groups like the Klu

Klux Klan as well as terrorist acts like the Oklahoma City Bombing in which 168 people — including 19 children — were killed. U.S. intelligence agencies’ reporting indicates that white supremacists and antigovernment militia extremists pose the most pressing threat to domestic security. No mention is made of Black Lives Matter (BLM), the Marxist-inspired organization that played a role in large scale riots across the U.S. that caused millions of dollars in damage last year. The Insurance Information Institute (III) has stated that since May 26, 2020, riots associated with the death of George Floyd have cost insurers, and their clients, upwards of 1-billion dollars, a cost that is expected to climb. The III

has labeled the riots as “the costliest civil disorder in U.S. history.” In comparison, the Jan. 6 insurrection resulted in under 1.5 million in damages. A strategy to protect law enforcement officers, some of the first responders combating domestic terrorism, is absent from the policy as well. Casualties amongst police officers skyrocketed over the past few years primarily due to BLM riots. One hundred and thirty-two officers were injured in 2020 during a single riot in Chicago. In New York, in June of 2020, close to four-hundred police officers were hurt during two weeks of riots over George Floyd’s death. Hundreds of others were injured in other communities and some lost their lives.

'Countdown To Vote' By Lucy Crawford Vision Times

O

n June 16, 2021, at 5:00 p.m, Democracy NYC, in partnership with the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs and the New York City Civic Engagement Commission, hosted a "Countdown to Vote" at Union Square. This is a free community event open to the public to introduce the new election system, Ranked Choice Voting, and to encourage New Yorkers to actively vote. Laura Wood, senior advisor to the Mayor's Office of Democracy NYC, said, "New York City has had an unimaginably difficult year, New York is recovering, and today we are all celebrating together, and the election is part of that, and the people who are elected will lead the recovery of New York City. " Phil Thompson, the city's deputy mayor for strategic policy initiatives, said, "For the past 15 months, New York City has been shut down because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Millions of people have lost their jobs, and many have gotten sick and

died. Now that New York City is rebooting. This election will determine how fast New York will recover and make the people who were hammered stronger. We want New York to become more fair, with more jobs and more opportunities to succeed. So this election is very important. " Phil Thompson said, "The artists' performances have attracted more people to come, and the election is something to celebrate." The event featured performances by local artists as well as The People's Bus-a retired NYC Department of Correction vehicle that has been

transformed into a community-led, intergenerational mobile civic engagement center. Colombian born artist Yazmany Arboleda, who is the city's public artist in residence and designer of the bus, said, "I use artwork to bring beauty and joy to people and to make their lives better. The People's Bus invites New Yorkers to know we're here and here to collaborate. Together we can change New York for the better." "The 'People's Bus' is our mobile civic engagement hub and this is the first time the 'People's Bus' meets the public and it is a big hit with

young people." Dr. Sarah Sayeed, the chair and executive director of the City's Civic Engagement Committee, said, "We participated in five days of voting election outreach in the five boroughs of New York. We aimed to promote democracy and strengthen trust in government and community." The "People's Bus" was covered in ads and parked in Union Square, giving New Yorkers of all ages a chance to learn about the vote and provide feedback on the future of the bus. Ranked-choice voting (RCV) allows voters to vote for up to five candidates. In other words, voters will rank up to five candidates on the ballot according to their preference, from 1 to 5 (1 being

the first choice with the highest priority and 5 being the fifth choice with the lowest priority), instead of choosing only one. Ms. Wong, who volunteers at the Countdown to the Polls, said, "I want to encourage more people to come out and vote, especially the Chinese, to elect someone who has the ability to bring New York back from the COVID19 pandemic. Chinese newcomers should take this opportunity to voice their concerns." This year will see the largest general election in New York City in 30 years, including races for the mayor of New York and 35 city council members whose terms have expired. The most highprofile positions include city comptroller, public advocate, five borough presidents, and Manhattan district attorney. DemocracyN YC, t he organizer of the Countdown to the Polls, is a nonpartisan program of the Mayor's Initiative focused on increasing voter participation in New York City. The 2021 primary election is scheduled for Tuesday, June 22.

Even the Price of House Cleaners and Movers is Going Up (Getty Images)

he price of hiring a mover or a cleaner is taking a bigger chunk than ever out of American taxpayers’ budgets, according to government statistics. In May, the price of moving, storage, and shipping expenses ballooned 5.5 percent month over month. The moving index rose 16.2 percent in contrast to a year ago, according to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Consumer subscription@visiontimes.com

Price Index (CPI). The last time the cost of shelter services moved so much was when a record high was reached in October 2017 with a massive 5.1 percent rise. Generally, the index rises only two-tenths of a point every month. The CPI also tracks a category it calls domestic services, which excludes lawn care and is mostly the cost of cleaners. The Index showed cleaning prices rose 6.4 percent in May, a twofold increase over the previous highest gain set in Decem-

ber of 2020.

The price hike before COVID-19

The last big rise happened long before the COVID-19 pandemic hit in October of 2006 when prices increased a modest-by-comparison 2.6 percent. Now, based on yearly stats, domestic and industrial cleaning services and products are hitting an unprecedented record-high increase of 13.7 percent. The (CPI) statistical records are based on the outlay of

almost all dwellers in urban or metropolitan areas and the spending patterns of the population groups. The excessive demand for cleaners is speculated to be caused by a labor shortage induced by the COVID-19 pandemic unemployment benefit, which now sees many workers earning more money staying at home than they would at a job. In a different report, the Labor Department stated there were almost 6.4 million individuals on Pandemic Unemployment Assis-

The program started last year and offers unemployment insurance to contractors, individuals searching for part-time work, and the self-employed who have been impacted by government measures related to the pandemic. Regarding core goods and services, prices excluding food and energy prices jumped 0.7 percent in May, increasing 3.8 percent year over year. The gain was the most significant monthly jump since June of 1992.

months in 2019, “China’s dams held back so much water that they entirely prevented the annual monsoondriven rise in river level at Chiang Saen, Thailand.” “This has not happened since modern records have been kept.” Researchers found the CCP’s motive was to replenish its dams after emptying them to produce hydroelectric power between January and June of 2019, a time when electricity was selling at a 300 percent premium in the mainland. “The amount of rainfall and snowmelt in China was enough to keep water levels in much of the Lower Mekong above average between June 2019 and March 2020 if China’s dams were not restricting that water,” reads the report.

Using Water to Create Chaos

at Home and Abroad By Neil Campbell

T

he Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is not your typical totalitarian government. It is a uniquely selfish form of chaotic political control, that has always had a willingness to sacrifice not only anyone who does not align with it, but also its own people. The motto of the CCP under Mao Zedong’s Cultural Revolution was “Battle with heaven, fight with the earth, struggle with humans— therein lies endless joy.” Decades later, this deviant approach to governance and moral philosophy has manifested as a geopolitical problem for China’s neighboring countries in the form of weaponized water. 18 countries and close to two billion people rely on a dozen rivers, which mostly originate in the Tibetan Plateau. The most recent water battle between the communist regime and its neighbors lies with India, as the Party plans to build a dam that would dwarf the Three Gorges on the Yar-

According to a January article by Nikkei Asia, construction of the dam is moving ahead without China’s government (the CCP) entering into, or even discussing water sharing agreements

with downstream neighbors India and Bangladesh. Nikkei says the dam is slated to produce three times more hydroelectricity for the Party than the Three Gorges does. The Yarlung Zangbo is the highest river in the world at 5,000 feet above sea level. It takes a nearly 8,000 foot plunge at the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, which makes it a delectable target for the Party’s power engineers. The proposed dam is located just 18 miles from the Indian border.

Lessons from the Mekong

India has valid cause for concern. The CCP has placed no less than 11 dams on the Mekong River, a crucial vein in the southeast Asian region, which travels 3,000 miles from southwest China through Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia before emptying into the South China Sea. The Communist Party has three additional dams for the Mekong in planning. In April of 2020, the Stimson Center, a U.S.-based

think tank, published a report titled New Evidence: How China Turned Off the Tap on the Mekong River that found in 2019 the CCP used its dams to withhold water from downstream regions as it enjoyed record precipitation. The report relied on data from Eyes on Earth, which used satellite measurements of microwave radiation to determine water level in the region. The Stimson Center describes the findings as an “ongoing pattern that has driven numerous wet season droughts,” adding “The increasing frequency of wet season drought in the Lower Basin tracks closely to the way China releases water during the dry season and restricts water during the wet season.” “China is impounding much more water than it ever has in the past during wet seasons and releasing more water than ever before during the dry seasons…. China’s dam management is causing erratic and devastating changes in water levels downstream.” The report says for five

The Communist Party not only has a water problem in its dealings with surrounding countries, but also domestically. China faces an imbalance between water and population; 7 percent of the world’s freshwater to 20 percent of the world’s population, in addition to the south possessing most of the country’s water while the north is home to most of its people. To solve its problem, the Party created the so-called South-to-North Water Diversion (SNWD) project, an array of canals and tunnels that intend to divert water from the Yangtze River towards Beijing. Two already-built routes have been operational since 2014. The eastern route directs water to Beijing through repurposing the 2,500-yearold Grand Canal, and a central route uses the Han River, a tributary of the Yangtze. A third route is being planned in the west, intending to utilize additional dam projects from the Tibetan Plateau. The SNWD cost $80 billion USD, displaced more than 400,000 Chinese citizens and shut down countless local industries as Party bosses attempted to reduce the pollution that the water would be subjected to (from the country’s notoriously toxic and poorly regulated industrial sector) during its 1,000 mile journey. A 2015 study published in Nature Magazine found the SNWD was dubious from its creation, “Pollution and environmental fallout, as well as high maintenance costs and water prices, make the project unsustainable both ecologically and socially.” “And the transfer of water does not address the underlying causes of water shortages in the north, namely pollution and inefficient agricultural, industrial and urban

use – the effects of which we have been studying over the past decade.” “North China could be self-sufficient in water without the transfer of water from the south. But the necessary steps – among them, improving local pollution monitoring and building better irrigation infrastructure – are inadequately implemented,” say the authors. The study found the communist-controlled country’s governments focus on increasing supply to solve water scarcity is simply because of corruption, “Increasing supply is viewed as the main solution to water scarcity because of the conflicting roles of the Chinese government as both entrepreneur and regulator.” “Incentives for economic growth in China still outweigh incentives for pollution control and limits on water extraction, despite ever stricter environmental laws.” The paper continued, “Many industries, such as the country’s huge hydropower sector, profit from expensive solutions to boosting water supplies.”’ Even the globalist and CCP-friendly World Economic Forum was critical of the communist regime’s environmental controls and called for China’s leaders to use their heads when it comes to finding a solution in a 2016 article titled China Has a Water Crisis – How Can It be Solved?, “While industrial pollution is the most frequently discussed source of pollution, land use and degradation accounts for about half of the pollution found in China’s water. Fertilizers, pesticides, and livestock waste is carried into lakes, rivers, wetlands and coastal waters. Aquifers are also impacted as rainfall and snowmelt carry pollutants underground.” “By protecting forests and improving agricultural practices in targeted areas in China, the country can improve water quality. In fact, by targeting conservation strategies to roughly 1.4 million hectares, sediment and nutrient pollution could be measurably reduced – by at least 10% – in these small to medium sized water catchments. These natural solutions have the potential to improve water quality for more than 150 million people.” The WEF found that the CCP could even save itself some money if it could find a way to cast off corruption and look at the problem humanely. The article notes that the Party was spending $8 billion USD per year on “eco-compensation programs,” while water quality upgrades using natural solutions that would benefit 30 of its largest cities would cost only $300 million per year.

The white stork

While bird migration is widely studied and fairly well understood today, it wasn’t always so. In fact, the phenomenon was such an enigma that wild and magical theories were taken seriously and even accepted as truth.

White storks make their way back and forth from sub-Saharan Africa to their nesting grounds in Europe every year. Flocks of nearly 11,000 birds take an average of 49 days to cover the oneway distance of nearly 12,500 miles. The route from Europe takes them over the Strait of Gibraltar into the Sahara Desert, where heavy thermal systems assist in soaring, thereby conserving precious energy. After crossing the desert, they follow the Nile River south into their chosen country in Africa. Back to Europe they fly each spring, to hatch a four-egg clutch in a treetop nest made of sticks, sod, and mud, along with rags or other bits of human refuse. Where trees are lacking, a rooftop will do, as demonstrated in the charming children’s novel “Wheel on the School,” a Newbery Award-winning work by Meindert DeJong in which Dutch school children entice nesting storks back to their hometown through per-

It

took nothing short of a miracle to uncover the mystery of migration. No other bird flies as far as the North American Arctic tern. Tracking studies have found the birds make annual journeys of about 44,100 miles, nearly equal to a trip “around the world.”

In its lifetime of up to 25 years, the Arctic tern could easily travel the distance between the Earth and the moon, times three (620,000 miles)! The journey some birds make in search of food and warmth is both monumental and heroic. For centuries it was shrouded in mystery, and speculation ran wild.

severance and cooperation. In the Netherlands and other countries in Europe, storks are seen as good omens and are associated with springtime and fertility. They tend to return to their own elevated homes with the same partner. Their highly durable nests have often been known to last for centuries. These sturdy birds were the key to discovering what happened to many bird species at the change of seasons. Like a divine revelation, the answer came from above. A white stork was spotted in 1822 near the village of Klütz, Germany; alive, but sporting a long spear through its neck. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the spear was made of African wood, indicating that the bird had made its way to Africa where it was apparently shot and injured. It subsequently managed to fly back to Germany, where it was discovered, killed and stuffed. Over time, an additional 24 such birds were spotted, enough to earn them the German name of Pfeilstorch, or Arrow-stork.

Myths One theory, dating back to the ancient Greeks, held that certain birds’ seasonal disappearance was due to hibernation, much like their furry counterparts. Aristotle himself postulated that they morphed into other birds and back again. Many even believed that they f lew to the moon and back. While we now know that many birds do have the endurance to fly great distances, even the

Arctic tern would take several years to accomplish that feat, regardless of the daunting atmospheric challenges it would face. Perhaps the most fanciful explanation is that of the crane’s annual disappearance being due to an ongoing war with the Pygmies. In his epic tale The Iliad (eighth century BC), Homer references to this myth in comparing the Trojan army with cranes:

shriek of cranes down from heaven who f lee the winter and the terrible rains and f ly off to the world’s end bringing death and doom to the Pygmy-men as they open fierce battle at dawn.

Roman author and natural philosopher Pliny the Elder (first century AD) reinforced this ancient lore with reports of pygmies eating the eggs and chicks of cranes to keep

their population down, while fighting the birds on the backs of goats and rams, wielding arrows. As we will soon see, the arrow part is not entirely unfounded.

VISION TIMES

Why migrate? Puzzling as it may be to ponder why a bird would go through the time and trouble to fly so far every year, and why some birds do and others do not migrate, according to the Washington Post, 2018 studies suggested that it all boils down to energy efficiency. In other words, “the energy cost to a bird of flying long distances is balanced out by the energy savings of being in a place where, in summer, there are

lots of mosquitoes, flies, insect larvae and other avian delicacies, and there is relatively little competition for food.” Yet according to Peter Marra of the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center, “migration is a very flexible trait.” This instinct can be overwhelmed by changes in the environment. Here in New Jersey, the Canada geese have become permanent residents of our parks. Our friend the white stork, too, is often enticed by the free eats found at landfills in Spain and Portugal, thus foregoing its annual travels. 212-730-6962

Goodbye COVID-19, hello digital pandemics In January, the WEF posted a YouTube video titled A Cyber-Attack with COVID-Like Characteristics? which claims the Internet suffers from a similar, yet more exacerbated, threat than the human body does from a contagious disease, “A cyber attack with COVIDlike characteristics would spread faster and further than any biological virus.” The video, with 265 likes and more than 1,300 dislikes, is now unlisted. The WEF claims this conceptual Internet virus would have a reproductive rate “10 times greater than what we’ve experienced with the coronavirus.” The video claims the only way to handle an exponentially contagious computer virus would be

to disconnect each and every infected device from the Internet, adding that a single day without the Internet would cost the global economy more than $50 billion USD. “And that’s before considering the economic and societal damages should these devices be linked to essential services such as transport or healthcare,” they say. In WEF figurehead Klaus Schwab’s opening remarks at the hacka-thon’s 2020 event, he said “We all know, but still pay insufficient attention to, the frightening scenario of a comprehensive cyber attack, which would bring a complete halt to the power supply, transportation, hospital services, our society as a whole.” “The COVID-19 crisis would be seen in this respect as a small disturbance in comparison to a major cyber attack.” Schwab was rather direct when he stated, “It is important to use the COVID-19 crisis as a timely opportunity to reflect on the lessons of cybersecurity community to draw and improve our unpreparedness for a potential cyber pandemic.”

Russia’s state-owned Sberbank The alignment between both the WEF and companies such as IBM and Visa for a digital pandemic or cyber attack scenario with a Russian state-owned asset is a notable departure from the mainstream narrative surrounding the SolarWinds hack, the Colonial Pipeline ransomware, or the alleged 2020 presidential election interference, all linked to one common adversary: Russia. Sberbank is a stateowned lender and the largest bank in Russia. According to Moscow Times, in April of 2020, the Putin government spent $28.5 billion USD from its Sovereign Wealth Fund to purchase a controlling stake in the organization from Russia’s cen-

tral bank. “The purchase does not change Sberbank’s role as a stateowned bank, but was designed to remove the regulatory conflict of interest which could arise from the country’s banking regulator owning the country’s largest bank,” reads the report. Sberbank was originally founded by Czar Nicholas I in 1841 and was later transformed under the Soviet Union into the State Labor Savings Offices. According to a January article by The Economist, Sberbank is no longer just a financial institution, “The roster of current and planned offerings ranges from cloud-computing to ride-hailing, virtual assistants, e-health and its own cryptocurrency. Forget banking: the firm has rebranded itself as Sber.” The article says Sberbank CEO German Gref’s vision for his Russian state-owned vanguard “is not American or European but Asian.” “Far-eastern ‘superapps’ have emerged offering a wide array of services under one roof. The likes of WeChat in China or Grab in SouthEast Asia have thrived by disrupting old financial institutions.” “Sberbank wants to be the disruptor instead,” reads the article Sber has, over the course of the hysteria surrounding SARSCoV-2, picked up real estate management platform Doma.ai and digital map company 2GIS, both Russian-language assets. The bank also is the lead investor on 11 other Russian projects with specific digital economy and social credit-facing qualities, including Smart Resident, “a mobile application for quick and convenient access to solving housing and communal issues,” Malivar, “a media company that creates and promotes virtual influencers and characters,” as well as companies involving e-groceries, e-signatures, digital payment processors, and autonomous driving platforms.

A repeat of Event 201?

President of the World Economic Forum in Davos Klaus Schwab (L) speaks with Russian President Vladimir Putin (R) as atthe-time Russian Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref (background) looks on in St. Petersburg on June 9, 2007. The choice of partnering with Russia’s largest bank to simulate a digital pandemic crisis is curious considering the mainstream media’s anti-Russia narrative.

Some off-the-beatenpath analysts fear Cyber Polygon 2020 and 2021 will be repeats of the infamous, albeit nottalked-about in the mainstream, Event 201 pandemic preparation event, which took place in October of 2019 at roughly the same time SARS-CoV-2 is likely to have escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China. Event 201 was a live scenario staged at The Pierre Hotel in New York on October 18, 2019. The event was headlined, organized, and participated in by none less than the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for Health Security, the World Economic Forum, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The Scenario Page on the Event 201 website is shockingly prophetic, “Event 201 simulates an outbreak of a novel zoonotic coronavirus transmitted from bats to pigs to people that eventually becomes efficiently transmissible from person to person, leading to a severe pandemic. The pathogen and the disease it causes are modeled largely on SARS, but it is more transmissible in the community setting by people with mild symptoms.” “The next severe pandemic will not only cause great illness and loss of life but could also trigger major cascading economic and societal consequences that could contribute greatly to global impact and suffering,” reads the Recommendations section of the event’s website. Organizers added the event “vividly demonstrated a number of these important gaps in pandemic preparedness as well as some of the elements of the solutions

between the public and private sectors that will be needed to fill them. An 11 minute and 45 second Highlights Reel of the scenario, posted on the Center for Health Security’s official YouTube channel, shows the simulated event was nearly identical to how the media and government have responded to SARS-CoV-2 in reality.

A fondness for the CCP’s social credit During the 2020 Digital Polygon event, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair deployed a promotion of the Chinese Communist Party’s social credit score in the form of a digital identification system when he said “Digital ID for me is a very big part of the future.” “Inevitably, governments are going to move in this direction — absolutely, inevitably,” said Blair. “And so what I think’s most important is that we from the political side wake-up to the potential of technology and engage with the changemakers inventing the technology, so that we understand it and can regulate it sensibly and not stupidly.” Blair’s comments were given in a conversation with Sberbank CEO German Gref. Blair has been bold in his calls for the installation of vaccine passports to protect the world from COVID-19. He said to The Telegraph in January there are two risks the UK would face if they did not use their influence over the G7 to install global vaccine passports, “One is that everyone just does their own thing, which is much more chaotic and

RLD difficult to manage. Or secondly, there’s a set of rules in place that you may not be that happy with,” “It’s better to have common rules and a common verification system, so that people know what your disease status is and know it with some validation.” In a November of 2020 article on the WEF’s website titled A Billion People Have no Legal Identity – but a New App Plans to Change That, the globalist bloc advocated for a smartphone app that uses a centralized blockchain technology that would merge food and stability, e-commerce, travel, healthcare, and financial services together under a centrally managed ID. When it comes to technocracy, globalists

appear to mean business. Klaus Schwab, author and vanguard advocate of Covid-19: The Great Reset, and Shaping the Future of The Fourth Industrial Revolution, said during remarks given to the Chicago Council on Global Affairs in October of 2019, “What the fourth industrial revolution will lead to is a fusion of our physical, digital and biological identity.” In his book on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Schwab says “As capabilities in this area improve, the temptation for law enforcement agencies and courts to

use techniques to determine the likelihood of criminal activity, assess guilt or even possibly retrieve memories directly from people’s brains will increase.” “Even crossing a national border might one day involve a detailed brain scan to assess an individual’s security risk.” “Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies will not stop at becoming part of the physical world around us—they will become part of us.” And indeed, it would appear Schwab means they will become a part of us in a very real way. In July of 2020, the WEF released a 28-page Briefing Paper titled Shaping the Future of the Internet of Bodies: New Challenges of Technology Governance, which said under its Executive Summary, “With an unprecedented number of sensors attached to, implanted within or ingested into human bodies to monitor, analyse and even modify human bodies and behaviour, immediate actions are needed to address the ethical and legal considerations that come with the IoB [Internet of Bodies].” “The urgency of such actions is further brought to the forefront by the global COVID-19 pandemic, with extensive IoB technologies and data being enlisted for the surveillance and tracking of coronavirus In June of 2020, Xiao Liu, a Fellow at Canada’s McGill University and a Fellow at the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, penned an article titled The Internet of Bodies is Here. This Is How It Could Change Our Lives where she stated, “It’s now time for the Internet of Bodies. This means collecting our physical data via devices that can be implanted, swallowed or simply worn, generating huge amounts of healthrelated information.”

The Quantum Internet Is Emerging

What Is It? What Can We Expect? By Todd Crawford Vision Times

In

July 2020, the U.S. Depar tment of Energy (DoE) and then Under Secretary for Science, Paul Dabbar, announced America’s Blueprint for the Quantum Internet detailing how the US is tackling this emerging technology that promises to redefine how the world communicates and handles data. Since this announcement, this next generation internet has grown significantly and is expected to be implemented and widely utilized within the next 5 to 10 years. This next generation network has been described as “unhackable.” It is also purported to be able to transfer large amounts of data across a network at much, much faster speeds than is currently possible by exploiting the quantum phenomena known as entanglement.

‘Teleporting’ data Traditional networks send bits — ones and zeros — across vast distances. Currently, ones and zeros make the world spin. The quantum internet on the other hand teleports qubits, the quantum realms’ version of bits, between quantum devices like quantum computers, processors, repeaters, and switches exploiting quantum entanglement. Quantum entanglement is a phenomena that Albert Einstein referred to as “spooky action at a distance.” This phenomena perplexed the genius because it appeared to send data faster than the speed of light, a universal constant that Einstein was adamant could not be breached. When two particles are entangled, what happens to one particle is immediately noticeable on its entangled partner. So, even if you separate two entangled particles by distances measured in lightyears the manipulation of one particle is noticed immediately on the other, thus inspiring many people to describe the phenomena as “teleportation” or “faster than light.” Whether data is actually travelling faster than light in this scenario is debatable. Despite our ability

to exploit entanglement, much about it remains unknown. Like our ancestors who didn’t understand how fire ignites but were still able to exploit its energy.

The roadmap The establishment of a quantum internet is well on its way. In July of 2020 the DoE had already progressed significantly establishing “17 DOE National Labs as the backbone of the Quantum Internet.” In the summer of 2020 the DoE already had a “52mile testbed for Quantum communications amongst several universities” in conjunction with Fermilabs and the University of Chicago. This progress was boosted by a Trump-era policy that was enacted in December 2018 with the National Quantum Initiative Act, a bipartisan effort that “commits the United States to maintaining and expanding its leadership in Quantum information science (QIS), as well as developing new Quantum capabilities.” At the time, Dabbar stated, “our goal for the quantum internet is to bring together a broad and diverse community from our labs, the private sector, and universities — a community that will combine traditional networking capabilities and infrastructure with new hardware, new materials, and new methods to create something truly groundbreaking.” Much of the quantum internet will be able to run on existing infrastructure, eliminating the need to replace large swaths of the existing network.

Implications consumers

for

Currently, data is extremely hard to secure as evidenced by regular breaches in security including two major breaches just recently that severely threatened U.S. infrastructure. The quantum internet promises to secure data once and for all. With classical communication, an algorithm creates keys that encrypts a user’s data before sending it and it is then decrypted at its destination. These keys are diffi-

cult, but not impossible, to break, allowing bad actors access to critical networks, as well as corporate and personal information. The quantum internet, on the other hand, utilizes qubits to create and transfer keys which, if tampered with, immediately lose their meaning and all data is lost, stopping hackers in their tracks. This means any personal information transmitted over a quantum network will be secure. Entities that depend on a secure network like banks, cryptocurrency exchanges and social media platforms will be virtually unhackable.

(Image: THOMAS KIENZLE/AFP via Getty Images)

In addition to this, internet users will be able to send much more data much faster with the quantum internet. Instantaneous transfer of files measured in terabytes will be both possible and commonplace. The regular internet is expected to remain unchanged for the foreseeable future; however, the quantum internet will likely complement the existing infrastructure, which allows for a gradual transition between the two networks. The current internet was first established in 1962 when J.C.R. Licklider of MIT sent a series of memos through the first network. It took decades to implement a world wide network that changed how people communicated, worked and lived. In comparison, the quantum internet is taking mere years to come to fruition. By the end of this decade, data and the networks used to send it, will be transformed creating an environment that is both much faster and much more secure.

Zhang Liang and the shoes of the old sage

Elders

Before

Zhang Liang (c. 262–189 B.C.), courtesy name Zhifang, was born in the State of Han (located around what is now central Henan Province). In order to avoid the chaos of war, his family moved to Nanyang in Henan and then moved to the Pei Kingdom. Later on, he settled down in Pei Kingdom and became a citizen there. In Zhang Liang's childhood, on a windy, snowy winter day, he happened upon Yishui Bridge in the town of Xiapi. There he met an old man wearing a yellow shirt and a black hood. The old man threw one of his shoes down to the bridge on purpose and told him:

n ancient calligrapher from the Jin Dynasty, and Han Dynasty founding hero Zhang Liang famously respected their elders in their youth. They learned to be humble and hence acquired knowledge and skills from their elders.

Guarding Against Arrogance

Zhang Liang paid his respects to the elder and put his shoes on for him. (Public

It is written in the Di Zi Gui:

Renowned calligrapher Wang Xizhi, known as the Sage of Calligraphy in China, lived during the Jin Dynasty (303–361 A.D.) and had seven children, among whom his youngest son, Wang Xianzhi, (344–386) was also a distinguished calligrapher. By the time Xianzhi was 15 years old, he had already achieved a great level of skill in calligraphy and often received praise from his father and other elders. Xianzhi hence became arrogant and lazy, thinking that his ability was already excellent and that he no longer needed to put in the effort to work hard and improve himself. There is a story about how Wang Xizhi helped his son realize the foolishness of his arrogance and understand the importance of diligence. One day, Wang Xizhi was summoned to the capital and to bid him farewell, his family held a lavish dinner. Fine food and wine were served at the feast. While slightly intoxicated, Wang Xizhi had a sudden inspiration to write some words of wisdom as guidance for Xianzhi. Wang Xizhi wrote a poem on the wall called "Precepts Against Arrogance" (戒 驕詩), advising Xianzhi not to be arrogant but to work hard. Xianzhi, however, was not entirely convinced. He copied the poem dozens of times each day, and just before his father returned home, he erased his father's words when no one was looking and rewrote it in the same location on the wall, imitating his father's calligraphy. Xianzhi was very proud of himself. In his arrogance, he thought his calligraphy was just as good as his father's and that no one would be able to tell the difference.

"Little boy, please go to pick my shoe back up for me." Zhang did not hesitate. Regardless of the danger of slipping into the river and being exposed to the cold wind, he went down to the bridge and picked up the shoe for the old man. The old man did not take the shoe, but offered his foot to Zhang and asked him to put the shoe on for him. Zhang did not mind and respectfully did what the old man told him to do. The old man smiled and said: "Boy, I see much promise in you. Come here tomorrow morning and I will teach you some things." The next day, before the crack of dawn, Zhang Liang came to the bridge and saw that the old man was already there. The old man said: "You came here later than me. I cannot teach you the Tao today." The next day, Zhang got up even earlier. Still, the old man was there before him, and he gave him the same answer. The third time, Zhang finally got to the bridge earlier than the old man. The old man then gave Zhang a book and said: "When you fully understand this book, you will be able to serve as the chief military counselor for a king in the future. If you need my help in the future, come to see me. I am the Yellow Stone at the foot of Gucheng Mountain." Zhang Liang went back home and he studied the book very carefully. Finally he mastered its essence. He was able to understand all of its intricacy and became very familiar with military tactics. Later, he assisted Liu Bang, first emperor of the Han dynasty, in his quest to unite China.

When Wang Xizhi came home, he looked intently at the poem on the wall for a long time, then scratched his head and sighed."Could I have drunk too much wine that night, to have written such clumsy characters?" he exclaimed. Xianzhi instantly reddened with embarrassment, finally realizing that only through diligent study and hard work could he eventually become a renowned calligrapher like his father.

ccording to Wall Street behemoth JPMorgan, the fairytale spun by pundits about Reddit’s WallStreetBets organizing to “squeeze” badly positioned hedge fund short sellers of video game retailer Gamestop (NYSE: GME) in what has been affectionately dubbed the “Gamestop Rebellion” is simply false. Peng Cheng, the JPMorgan quantitative and derivatives strategy analyst, wrote to clients in a note: “Although retail buying was portrayed as the main driver of the extreme price rally experienced by some stocks, the actual picture may be much more nuanced,” according to CNBC.

The Dragon Boat Festival(端午節)is a traditional Chinese holiday that dates back almost 2,000 years. According to folklore, the weather is expected to be volatile up until the Dragon Boat Festival. A popular saying advises, “don’t put away winter clothing till the Dragon Boat Festival.” After the Dragon Boat Festival, one can rely on warm weather.

Origin

The Dragon Boat Festival started during the Warring States period after the death of Qu Yuan (屈原, 340–278 B.C.), one of China’s earliest poets and prime minister of the state of Chu. At the time, Chu was threatened by the neighboring kingdom of Qin, which was intent on conquering all China. Qu Yuan actively worked toward preventing his country from falling to Qin domination; however, he faced strong opposition from Chu aristocrats, many of whom had been bribed by Qin agents. Eventually, even the king of Chu turned against him, and Qu was forced to return to his home region as an exile. He stayed there for years, hoping that the nation’s leaders would come to their senses. But when Qu Yuan learned that Chu’s capital had fallen to Qin, he committed suicide by weighing down his robes with rocks and sinking himself in the Miluo River. The local people were moved by Qu Yuan’s patriotic sentiments. They made sticky rice balls wrapped in bamboo leaves and threw them into the river to feed the fish, in hopes that they would not eat the poet’s body. Later, the custom of wrapping rice dumplings, or zongzi (粽子), every year on May 5 of the Chinese lunar calendar, (the day Qu Yuan threw himself into the river) was introduced. This day is called the Dragon Boat Festival, and this year it falls on June 14 of the Gregorian (Western) calendar. According to legend, some people wanted to find Qu Yuan, so they rowed a boat on the Miluo River in search of his body. This evolved into the custom of rowing dragon boats, and eventually racing them.

1

Making rice dumplings (zongzi) During the festival, people typically eat zongzi, a dish made from sticky rice with different fillings, wrapped in banana leaves to form a pyramid-shaped packet. In the Northern regions of China, people tend to eat sweet zongzi with red beans and dried jujube paste inside. In the southern parts of China, zongzi is often filled with fatty pork and a paste made from mung beans.

Traditional customs May in the lunar calendar signals the arrival of hot weather. Mosquitoes and flies multiply, spreading bacteria and infectious diseases. It was once considered to be a time of misfortune, giving the fifth lunar month a reputation as the “Month of Evil” or “Month of Toxins.” By the time of the Dragon Boat Festival, the heat is at its peak, and pestilence runs rampant. The Chinese people adopted several customs to ward off bad luck and summon good fortune. These customs include making zongzi, hanging up medicinal herbs, dragon boat races, and wearing scented sachets.

2

Dragon Boat racing

The Dragon boat race has become a very popular competition. A sport for building physical strength and team spirit, it is now practiced in more than 50 countries, with an estimated 50 million active dragon boat paddlers in the world. Watching dragon boat races is good outdoor entertainment for the public.

Hanging bundles of herbs

Wearing scented sachets

Today’s Dragon Boat Festival can be said to be partly derived from the traditional Chinese health festival, where ancients used herbs such as sweet flag (Acorus calamus) and mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris L.) to repel toxins. In fact, because every household would hang sweet flag up to drive away evil, Dragon Boat Festival is also known as “Pu Festival(蒲節).”Mugwort embodies “inviting a hundred blessings.” It is an herb that can cure illnesses and is inserted at the door to keep people healthy. Because of its medicinal functions, mugwort is legendary for warding off evil spirits.

Scented sachets are a kind of auspicious amulet to ward off evil spirits. Various colors of silk cloth are made into capsules, and stuffed with dried herbs. These colourful and fragrant ornaments often feature intricate embroidery to welcome good fortune and ensure a long and healthy life. In the past, sewing scented sachets was a very common task for young girls. Nowadays, you can see various shapes of scented sachets being sold in stores and on the street. Every Dragon Boat Festival, people all over the world shop for them. Everyone can enjoy the spirit of Dragon Boat Festival. Even if you don’t have the actual boating event nearby, making a scented sachet or eating delicious zongzi can be fun family activities that are both educational and enriching.

King Protea in Cape Floristic, South Africa

Flamingos at Lake Nakura, Kenya

Found in the Cape Floristic Region, the King Protea, named due to its resemblance to a crown, is the largest of all proteas. It is South Africa’s national flower. Proteas are considered to be among the oldest families of flowering plants on the planet, dating back approximately 300 million years. The Cape Floristic Region is one of 6 recognized floral kingdoms in the world and one of the most biologically diverse regions on earth.

Nakuru means “Dust or Dusty Place” in the Maasai language. Lake Nakura National Park is famous for its thousands, sometimes millions of flamingos nesting along the shores. Flamingos get their pink from eating shrimp and algae that contains carotenoid pigments.

Las Muralla Rosa in Calpe, Spain This apartment complex in Manzanera, Calpe was designed by Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill. The design inspiration came from the architecture of a North African fortress. The outer walls are in different hues of red and pink. Blue is used on central courtyards and violet for staircases, bridges, and retaining walls. There are 50 apartments of varying sizes in total. Calpe is also known for its quality seafood and the peculiar landscape of Peñon De Ifach, or Rock of Ifach. It is a massive rock that protrudes 332 meters above sea level right by the coast.

New York-based Medical Group Finds Success in Challenging Cardiology Case By Steven Li, MD Vision Times

A

team of physicians in New York recently made a breakthrough in the diagnosis and treatment of a challenging cardiology patient. Excelsior Medical stated that the patient had a “complicated and serious medical condition” and was unable to receive a definitive diagnosis at a major New York medical center before getting discharged. Excelsior Integrated Medical Group (Excelsior Medical) is a multi-specialty medical group based in New York dedicated to providing “high quality care, value based medical care delivery, population management, [and] healthcare cost reduction.” The group consists of over 70 providers spread across 19 divisions, 21 primary care sites, and 27 specialty sites. The patient, Mr. AM, initially met with primary care specialist Dr. Tina Wong for hospital follow-up to discuss his diagnoses of non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) and congestive heart failure. At the hospital, he received a diagnostic catheterization showing “normal coronary arteries” and “decreased overall left ventricular function of about 40%.” In other words, his heart vessels were not occluded, but his heart function was lower than normal due to an unknown etiology.

Dr. Michael Poon, a top doctor in cardiovascular medicine.

Figure 1: In these cardiac MRI images, the 4-chamber (A) and a short-axis view (B) of the heart shows a subendocardial late gadolinium enhancement pattern (arrows) consistent with cardiac amyloidosis.

Figure 2: On the left, an aspirate smear from a bone marrow biopsy shows plasmacytosis, the abundance of plasma cells, a type of immune cell. On the right, the stained bone marrow biopsy sample displays vascular wall amyloid deposition with typical apple-green birefringence under polarized light. These findings are consistent with systemic amyloidosis.

Dr. Michael Poon practices in New York at the following clinics:

The patient was promptly referred to cardiologist Dr. Michael Poon, who evaluated the echocardiogram study. Given Mr. AM’s “compromised left ventricular function,” with no obvious abnormalities of the heart wall or valves, Poon decided to order a cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan. Poon is the regional director at Lenox Hill Greenwich Village Advanced Cardiac Imaging Center, where the MRI was performed. The findings from the MRI study were invaluable for guiding Poon’s next steps. The images “showed the classic pattern of cardiac amyloidosis with global subendocardial late enhancement.” According to Johns Hopkins, the condition “occurs when plaques of protein byproduct called amyloid build up in heart muscle, affecting its ability to pump blood.” The patient was found to have mild anemia, or a decreased proportion of red blood cells. In addition, a Serum Protein Electrophoresis (SPEP) study revealed a monoclonal (M) spike of IgA Lambda (1.8 g/dl), which was confirmed by high levels of IgA antibodies (3162 mg/ dl) and Lambda light chains (224 mg/dl), pieces of antibodies made by white blood cells, in Mr. AM’s blood. No significant abnormalities in kidney and liver function were found. Subsequent ly, Poon

ordered a bone marrow biopsy, in which a sample of the patient’s bone was taken for analysis. A cancer with an abnormally high proportion of plasma cells, a type of white blood cell, was confirmed. Congo Red staining of the sample revealed “deposits within vascular walls, consistent with amyloid deposition.” Within one week of consulting the group’s hematology experts, who specialize in blood as it relates to health and disease, Mr. AM was diagnosed with systemic amyloidosis based on clinical presentation and laboratory and pathology findings. The next day, he was started on bortezomib-based chemotherapy, and “tolerated the treatment very well.” Furthermore, he was referred to a transplant specialist in hopes of becoming a “future stem cell transplantation recipient.” Mr. AM expressed his sincere gratitude to the Excelsior Integrated Medical Group, which exhibited efficient

coordination between physicians in primary care and multiple speciality divisions. With the lack of a definitive diagnosis during his hospital stay, the patient was pleased to receive clarity about his condition and begin a treatment plan.

Distinguished cardiologist

Dr. Michael Poon, who was instrumental in diagnosing and treating Mr. AM, is a prestigious US-trained cardiologist who immigrated to New York City from Hong Kong at the age of 15. He received his Medical Doctor (MD) degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and was at the top of his class as part of the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. During his internal medicine and cardiology fellow training at Mount Sinai Hospital, he won several prestigious awards, including Young Investigator Awards from American Heart Association (AHA) and American

College of Cardiology (ACC), and the AHA Clinician Scientist Award. Before joining Excelsior Integrated Medical Group, Dr. Poon was System Director of Research, Cardiac Imaging, and Clinical transformation of Northwell Health and Director of Noninvasive Cardiac Imaging at Lenox Hill Hospital and holds professorship titles in five academic departments. Poon’s clinical and scientific accomplishments include the discovery of the “antiproliferative property of Rapamycin in 1994” and groundbreaking research in the area of drug-eluting coronary stent treatment for obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD). He “started the field of coronary computed tomographic angiography (CCTA)” in America and spearheaded the use of cardiac MRI for evaluation of right-sided heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. Furthermore, he led efforts to use CCTA in the Emergency Room triage of acute chest pain at Stony Brook University Medical Center and Fractional Flow Reserve CT (FFRct) as an everyday clinical tool at Northwell Health. Most recently, he “pioneered the use of CCTA” during the coronavirus pandemic and “led the national movement to start using CCTA as the preferred initial diagnostic test for the evaluation of stable chest pain.”
