Everything you need to know about the traffic situation during the Antwerp 10 Miles On Sunday, 17 April, Antwerp will receive thousands of runners and supporters on both sides of the river Scheldt for the 31st edition of the DVV Antwerp 10 Miles and the Antwerp Marathon. Here you will find all the information you need to reach Antwerp on the day of the event and to move about in the city. Five races on one day 9.00 a.m. DVV Antwerp Marathon 11.00 a.m.

Public transport Except for the interruptions listed on www.delijn.be (tel.: + 32 70 220 200), all tram lines follow their normal routes. The interruptions will be kept as brief as possible. Public transport is the ideal way to follow the Marathon and the 10 Miles. Low-traffic area between Leien and Kaaien To guarantee optimal traffic flow, the zone between the Leien and the Kaaien will be a low-traffic area between 9.00 a.m. and 7 p.m. Extra bicycle parking facilities Bicycles are the ideal means of transport to move about on Sunday, 17 April, for both participants and supporters. Extra bicycle parking facilities will be installed on both the left bank (Van Eedenplein area) and the right bank (pedestrian tunnel and Steenplein area). Please note: crossing the river by bike in either direction will not be possible via the pedestrian tunnel or by boat. On foot or by bike The pedestrian tunnel (St-Anna tunnel) will be exceptionally reserved for pedestrians. The tunnel has a limited capacity. The free Flandria Boat is a good alternative for supporters. Bikes are exceptionally not allowed in the tunnel. You can leave your bike in one of the parking facilities near the tunnel. On the day of the DVV Antwerp 10 Miles & Marathon, the bicycle tunnel (De Gerlachekaai – Beatrijslaan) will be reserved for motorised transport (mopeds) and residents. The lifts and staircases have a limited capacity resulting in long waiting times. Therefore, we advise against the use of the cyclist tunnel on Sunday, 17 April. Use the free bicycle parking facilities on the left bank (cyclist tunnel) and the right bank (near the pedestrian tunnel, Zuiderterras and at Steenplein). You can then cross the river Scheldt by boat or via the pedestrian tunnel. Walking through the pedestrian tunnel to get to the left bank will be faster than taking a bike through the cyclist tunnel. The course of the race

is designed to minimize disruptions to public transport. Public transport company De Lijn will be operating its trams and buses at maximum capacity. Crossing the river by boat Compared to previous years, the ferry capacity will be much larger and the travel time significantly shorter. This allows more runners and supporters to make use of the ferry service. Between 11.30 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. there is a FREE ferry service between the left and right banks. On the right bank, all boats leave from the pontoon at Steenplein. On the left bank, there are two jetties: at the start and finish area and at St. Anna Beach (Sint-Annastrand). Bicycles are not allowed on board. You can leave your bike in the parking facilities at Steenplein. Kennedy, Bolivar and Waasland tunnels temporarily closed For safety reasons, the Kennedy, Bolivar and Waasland tunnels will be temporarily closed on Sunday, 26 April.   

Waasland tunnel: closed between 8.30 a.m. and 7.45 p.m. Bolivar tunnel: closed between 12 noon and 6.45 p.m. Kennedy tunnel in the direction of Antwerp/the Netherlands: closed between 1.30 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. Traffic toward Antwerp/the Netherlands is diverted via the Liefkenshoektunnel (LHT), which will be toll-free for the occasion.
