DELICIOUS EATS, CULTURE AND ADVENTURE CONVERGE IN THIS QUAINT CENTRAL OREGON CITY.
Madras is a small farming community on the northern end of Central Oregon in Jefferson County. A weekend in Madras can be spent enjoying Central Oregon staples—good beer, quality meals made with local ingredients, shelves full of artisan goods and celebrations of the region's history.
Where to Eat and Drink
Madras has a thriving Hispanic community, and the town has an impressive array of Mexican and LatinAmerican restaurants. Rio is a great option for a nice dinner out on the town, while La Posada Mexican Grill and La Salvadorena are recommended for quicker, more casual bites. Madras Brewing Company and Wild Wind Stations offer up some well known pub fare, while the Eagle Bakery is the perfect place to grab a morning muffin or croissant.
For drinks, Madras is similar to other towns in Central Oregon in that nearly every restaurant in town offers local brews from Deschutes, 10 Barrel, Sunriver Brewing and more. To find wine, ciders and cocktails, look no further than Madras Brewing Company and Rialto Tavern—both locations boast a cocktail menu made with local spirits. For a souvenir of your trip to Madras, stop by New Basin Distilling and pick up a bottle of a locally made, small batch spirit.
Where to Stay
