Try the new Island Coaster bus which stops at all meteorite locations from the middle of July until the end of September 2013. The double decker bus runs four times a day and is bike friendly, with the lower deck being specially converted to carry push bikes on board. It’s easier than ever to enjoy a hassle free holiday! To come walking with dinosaurs on the Isle of Wight and take your picture with the prehistoric characters you meet along the way, you will first need to download the FREE Dinosaur Island app on your smart phone or tablet. Meet Iguanodon at Yaverland
The Yaverland meteorite is close to the beach slipway at the 2 easternmost point of the carpark. Here you’ll meet a great plant eating dinosaur called Iguanodon. The Iguanodon is a close relative of Edmontosaurus, a gentle giant who stars in WALKING 3 DINOSAURS: THE 3D MOVIE. WITH Nearby; it’s just a short walk along the sea front to Dinosaur 1 Isle, 4 the UK’s first purpose built Dinosaur museum.

Meet Polacanthus at Bonchurch Landslip
Head through the Smugglers Haven car park to a grassy dell where you’ll discover the meteorite. Meet Polacanthus Fox here; a 3 6 eating species that was discovered here in 1869. It’s similar plant to the heavily armoured Ankylosaurus and Pachyrhinosaurus, who 4 star in WALKING WITH DINOSAURS: THE 3D MOVIE. both Nearby; after viewing the dinosaur, enjoy refreshments at the Smugglers Haven tea room or check out the amazing geology 5 of the Bonchurch Landslip.

Meet Caulkicephalus above Blackgang Chine
From the viewpoint car park high above 5 Blackgang Chine, enjoy the spectacular views along 1 coast towards the Needles. The meteorite is located the in the northwest corner of the car park. You’ll find the 6 reptile Caulkicephalus (which had a wingspan of flying 2 3-4m metres) comes swooping into view. It is similar to Azhdarch, an enormous pterosaur that stars in WALKING WITH DINOSAURS: THE 3D MOVIE. 3

Meet Neovenator at Hanover Point
High above the Spyglass Inn on Ventnor Esplanade is La Falaise 4 park. Join the footpath at the far end of the car car park and walk along to find the meteorite. Come face to face with Valdosaurus, a rare plant eating dinosaur with a small 5 chunky body, and a very long tail. His ancestral link is to head, Parksosaurus from WALKING WITH DINOSAURS: THE 3D MOVIE.
Head away from the Compton Beach car park towards the beach and you will see the next meteorite on the trail ahead of you. 6 Here you will encounter Neovenator, one of the largest and most ferocious flesh-eating predators in the dinosaur world. It is a slightly smaller version of Gorgosaurus, the villain in WALKING WITH DINOSAURS: THE 3D MOVIE.
Nearby; pop in for a seaside drink at the Spyglass Inn or stroll 6 further along the dramatic coastline to reach secluded Steephill Cove.

There are six meteorites situated on the Island. You’ll need to visit one of these to trigger your dinosaur encounter. At 4each meteorite location you will meet a different dinosaur. When you arrive at one of the meteorites, open your phone app and point the camera lens at the white square. Keep 5your camera level with the square for a few seconds to get the best results.

Meet Pelosaurus at the Needles Battery
Head along the cliff edge road to the Needles New Battery to find the final meteorite on the trail. Here you will meet Pelosaurus, a sauropod that is thought to have been 20 metres long when fully grown. The huge Gorgosaurus and Edmontosaurus in WALKING WITH DINOSAURS: THE 3D MOVIE are Late Cretaceous dinosaurs that replaced the earlier sauropods. Nearby; don’t miss a round of Jurassic Golf at the Needles Park or a trip on the chairlift to view the stunning coloured sands of Alum Bay.
