Atlas has all of the Greek staples such as hummus, falafel, salads and gyros while house-made dressings including feta comeback and feta ranch provide the Southern influence. Owner Chad Segrest has over ten years in the restaurant industry and wanted to give guests a new kind of Greek cuisine experience in the City with Soul.

DUMBO’S

This spring, Chef Paul Adair is bringing a new restaurant, Dumbo’s, to Jackson. GODFREY’S CARIBBEAN RESTAURANT

Godfrey’s Caribbean Restaurant in South Jackson is the go-to spot for Jamaican cuisine. Godfrey Morgan, owner and executive chef, grew up in Jamaica and brought his talents and love for cooking to Jackson. With dishes such as coconut fried shrimp, jerk chicken and lobster shrimp quesadillas, the food at Godfrey’s captures the essence of the Caribbean. Beverages such as reggae punch and pineapple tea top off the experience. The tropical décor of the restaurant contributes to the ambience of an island oasis.

ELVIE’S

Elvie’s, located in the new Belhaven Town Center, is the city’s newest all-day café. The concept for Elvie’s was inspired by executive chef and owner Hunter Evans’s grandmother, Elvie, a New Orleans native. Because of its New Orleans-inspired aesthetic and classic Southern hospitality, Elvie’s serves as a thoughtfully curated venue to enjoy breakfast, brunch, dinner or cocktails. The menu consists of both French and Southern dishes including shrimp and grits, French hermit oysters and Gulf Coast bouillabaisse. The cocktail menu includes classic wine and beer selections as well as original cocktails such as Elvie’s gin fizz. Co-owners Hunter Evans and Cody McCain have combined attention to detail and passion to create a unique dining experience in the heart of this historic neighborhood.

CAMPBELL’S CRAFT DONUTS

Campbell’s Craft Donuts, also located in Belhaven Town Center, has brought craft donuts and breakfast tacos to the City with Soul. The scratch-made donuts are made fresh daily, and the available flavors change to meet the demands of customers. From classic flavors such as glazed and chocolate to specialty selections like bacon maple and Boston cream, there is something for everyone. Owner and chef Mitchell Moore’s goal was to bring Austin street-style tacos to Jackson. Campbell’s tacos can be enjoyed for both breakfast and lunch. The abundance of seating and whimsical design of the restaurant make it the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch or an afternoon treat.
