VISITOR CENTERS

Whether you’re already in town, or planning your next trip, I am excited to welcome you to this dynamic city. As a lifelong Jacksonville resident, I know first-hand how much there is to see and do throughout the 840-plus square miles that make Jacksonville the largest area by landmass in the continental United States.

If you love the outdoors, you’ll fit right in here. From our welcoming beach communities to more than 400 city parks, seven state parks and two national parks, each with its own unique hiking, biking, kayaking, horseback riding or fishing spots, there is plenty to explore.

Art is not just in museums in Jacksonville. It’s easy to immerse yourself in our artistic culture by spotting our vibrant street art, touring a local gallery and enjoying one of our many outdoor festivals and events.

When it comes to our food scene “locally sourced” is more than a trend with menus throughout town filled with ingredients grown here. We’re home to restaurants ranked top in the state by Southern Living magazine and Yelp, as well as award-winning chefs who’ve mastered a widevariety of cuisines. And don’t forget the beer. Jacksonville has more than 25 local breweries on the Jax Ale Trail. Be sure to get your Ale Trail passport for a chance to collect a unique souvenir from your trip.

On behalf of our Tourist Development Council, I welcome you to the largest city in the continental United States - Jacksonville, Florida. Whether you are here for business or leisure, to soak up some sun, or meet with business associates, I trust your trip will be one to remember.

As President of our City Council, I am proud of our city and all it has to offer to those who travel here. Each of our unique, diverse neighborhoods offers its own Florida flare with southern hospitality. If you’re looking for coastal cuisine like our signature Mayport shrimp, public art that adorns hundreds of buildings throughout the area, hiking and biking trails to explore the beauty of our outdoors, or to catch a game in our sports complex, then Jacksonville is your place to visit!

Once you’re in town, I encourage you to stop by one of our Visitor Centers, located at Jacksonville International Airport near baggage claim, in Downtown Jacksonville, and at the Beaches Museum in Jacksonville Beach. I hope this Visitor Magazine helps you discover all our city has to offer. Thank you for choosing Jacksonville as your destination.

Sincerely –
