FINANCING YOUR UT EDUCATION College is a big investment, and we offer a variety of funding programs to demonstrate our investment in you! Nearly 90 percent of UT students and 93 percent of entering freshmen receive financial aid and scholarships from UT, federal, state, and private sources.

Scholarships you may be eligible for include:

Institutional Scholarships: First-year students who apply for admission by the scholarship deadline during their senior year in high school will be automatically considered for institutional scholarships.

Competitive Scholarships: Each year, committees consider incoming and current students for competitive four-year, one-year, departmental, and campus-wide scholarships.

Need-Based Awards: UT is committed to providing a quality education regardless of a family’s financial situation and offers several scholarships based on financial need.

HOPE Scholarship: The state of Tennessee offers lottery-funded scholarships to assist qualifying in-state students who graduate from a Tennessee high school. Students must submit a FAFSA annually.
