Booking your wedding venue
Top things to consider before booking your wedding venue
Choosing a wedding venue is often one of the most important parts of the wedding planning process. It helps to shape the rest of the day, from the flowers, colours, and photography, to the all important wedding party attire.
The right choice can help the day come together with ease. Here are some top tips to consider when booking your wedding venue.
A venue that reflects you
Are you the type of couple to go on country walks, spend time in the city or explore historic buildings? Across Lancashire you will find a wide range of venues to suit, from castles and stately homes to boutique hotels, cotton mills and country pubs, all waiting to help make your day extra special.
Make and stick to a budget
Your wedding day shouldn’t break the bank, and there really are venues available for all budgets in Lancashire. Small budgets don’t have to mean you lose out on a spectacular venue either, with wedding ceremonies at venues such as Haworth Art Gallery costing as little as £350.
Location, Location, Location
Lancashire’s central location makes it a wonderful place for a wedding, but there are other things to consider when picking your venue’s location. This can be things like, how will your guests get there? Is there accommodation nearby? If the ceremony is in a different location, is it easy to get to?
Can you all fit?
Try to have an idea of the number of guests you would like at the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening event as these will help narrow down suitable venues. You may want more guests to join you in the evening, can the venue accommodate this?
See a range of venues
Often you’ll have an idea of what type of venue you would like, however it is always good to throw in a few wild cards, as you never know, that independent picture house, converted barn or countryside hotel might actually be your perfect venue.
Non-negotiables
If you have an idea of how you want your day to go, write a list of non-negotiables. If you want a confetti shot, to cater your own day or include a beloved family dog in your ceremony, make sure that the venue can do this before you decide to commit.
When you know, you know
Like how you felt when you realised your partner was the one, you will likely get a similar feeling about your perfect venue. Go with your gut, if it feels right, it probably is.
