Panoramic views over the lake and forest alongside a backdrop of 27 miles of spectacular shoreline edged with pine forest and heather moorland; it is the perfect setting for your holiday.

KIELDER CARAVAN PARK AT LEAPLISH WATERSIDE PARK Kielder Caravan Park overlooks Leaplish Waterside Park and provides a stunning escape for your getaway. We have 99 hard standing pitches available for both touring caravans and motor homes, with superb forest views and some pitches overlooking the water.

THE BOAT INN What better way to unwind than by enjoying a mouth-watering meal at the Boat Inn, overlooking Kielder Water? The onsite gastro pub is open for lunch and dinner and is the perfect place to relax after a day in the outdoors. THE OSPREY FERRY There is no better way to take in the spectacular views of Kielder Water than on board the Osprey Ferry. This 60-seater motor cruiser includes a shop, heated seating area, toilets and full commentary about this awe inspiring part of the world. TOWER KNOWE VISITOR CENTRE Tower Knowe is the perfect base to discover the area’s rich history; our friendly employees know everything there is to know about the area, from the quietest fishing spots to the best activities for all of the family. Visit our Explore Centre which is packed with information about our incredible wildlife, history and all the exciting things you can do while you are here. Use the interactive map to learn about the different parts of Kielder or play on our ‘living floor’; its great fun to walk across and get a birds eye view of the park and it’s always a hit with little ones. Next door to the Explore Centre is our shop which is ideal to pick up a souvenir, fishing tackle, outdoor wear or just a little something to treat yourself. If you need to refuel after all of the fresh air then our on site cafe, Cafe on the Water, is ideal to enjoy a hot drink and delicious snack whilst taking in the breathtaking views. EXPLORE LEAPLISH WATERSIDE PARK Leaplish Waterside Park and the wider Kielder Water & Forest Park have so much on offer you’ll never be short if things to do while you are here. NATURE
If you love nature, you’ll adore our wildlife garden with its raised pond, butterfly-shaped bed, drought garden and nest box where all sorts of adders, butterflies stoats and amphibians live. As well as seeing a wide variety of birds and wildlife, our squirrel hide on Beeches Walk has the country’s largest residency of red squirrels to watch in their natural habitat.
PLAY GARDEN
This fabulous garden, which is great for big kids and little kids alike, includes state-of-the-art play equipment, superb landscape design and brightly patterned tower structures for everyone to enjoy.
LAKESIDE WAY
Leaplish Waterside Park is a great starting point to run, cycle, or walk along the 26 miles of stunning native trails around Kielder Water’s shoreline. As you explore the Lakeside way you will also spot some of our award winning outdoor art and architecture.

KIELDER WATER BIRDS OF PREY CENTRE
Discover one of the largest and most fascinating collections of birds of prey in the north of England, including eagles, hawks, falcons, kestrels, vultures, owls, kites and goshawks. As well as the beautiful birds on display, you can enjoy thrilling demonstrations, hawk walks, hunting days and falconry courses.
MOUNTAIN BIKE HIRE
With miles of cycling trails to explore why not hire a bike for your stay? Mountain bikes for adults and children are available, including trailers and buggies, from Kielder Village. Leaplish is set within one of the biggest playgrounds around and this is a playground with a difference. We’ve around 250 square miles for you to play in, so whether your passion is flying down a mountain bike track covered in mud, a family cycle ride, horse riding, or water sports on the biggest mad-made lake in northern Europe, you won’t be disappointed. Join in one of the events that is regularly held in the park, for that really wild experience try a working forest visit, family bushcrafts survival challenge or wilderness survival skills! For a more relaxed wild experience join a red squirrel safari and try and track down one a red squirrel in one of the last strongholds in England.

DISCOVER KIELDER WATER & FOREST PARK It is well worth a visit out into Kielder Water & Forest Park while you are staying at Leaplish; there are loads of things for you to explore, some of which are unique to Kielder. DARK SKIES
Kielder is part of Northumberland International Dark Sky Park and has the largest expanse of dark night sky in the whole of Europe. The dark winter nights are best for viewing deep sky objects such as galaxies, while in summer you can view the beautiful Milky Way, passing comets and shooting stars. Book onto an event at Kielder Observatory at www.kielderobservatory.org/events/ to learn all about the night sky and look through the amazing telescopes which even let you see the suns surface. Alternatively sit outside your lodge or caravan and simply sit back, relax and enjoy the dark night sky.
KIELDER CASTLE VISITOR CENTRE
Kielder Castle was formerly the hunting lodge for the Duke of Northumberland and is now the centre of cycling within the Park. There is plenty for you to see and do here including the red squirrel viewing hide, the Minotaur Maze and children’s play area and the Kielder Castle Cafe. ART & ARCHITECTURE
The park is home to the largest open air space in the UK to experience Art & Architecture. Located across the park, this vibrant collection will both surprise and intrigue you. The Kielder Art & Architecture programme has been running since 1995 with over 37 permanent and temporary works commissioned. These commissions have won many national awards including the Stephen Lawrence Prize, four RIBA Awards and the Northern Culture Award for ‘Best use of Public Open Space’.
