The Mariposario Butterfly House Avenue Elmer Faucett km 7, to the west of the center of the city of Puerto Maldonado, close to the airport (10 min. by car or mototaxi). Ticket entry. Opening hours: Mon-Sun 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Tel. (51) 982-353-117. This large garden exhibits a great variety of butterflies in their natural habitat. Visits on sunny days and before midday are recommended, so as to enjoy the view of the butterflies in flight.

The Tambopata Ecotourism Corridor 7 km west of the center of Puerto Maldonado (15 min. by car or mototaxi). Opening hours: Mon-Sun 8:00 am - 6:00 pm. Each activity has its own entrance fee. The corridor lies in the buffer zone of the Tambopata National Reserve. The local families have adapted their land to provide quality services amidst beautiful natural landscapes. Visitors can appreciate typical flora and fauna from the comfort of their accommodation and can undertake activities such as paintball, camping, night walks, study of medicinal plants, boating, while savoring delicious Amazon dishes.

Yacumama Lake 8km from the center of the city of Puerto Maldonado (15 min. by motorcycle taxi). Opening days: Thu-Tue. It is recommended to contract an agency. Is an old meander and abandoned course of the Madre de Dios River. It has characteristics of Lake Pantanal the same one that one finds in an immense aguajal. You can make boat rides, sighting of nests of parrots and macaws, and fishing of piranhas.

The Cachuela Sector 12km northwest of the city center of Puerto Maldonado (20 min by motorcycle taxi). Opening days: Mon-Sun. It is recommended to contract an agency. The proximity to Puerto Maldonado allows an easy access to any person interested in visiting and experience the intensity of the jungle. You can walk through the paths, paddle a canoe, try the zipline and canopy (35 m height), make your own handmade chocolate, visit the parrots macaw clay lick, and other activities.
