MIGHTY. BEAUTIFUL.

ARTISTIC.

LOCAL ARTS

Pittsburgh has an abundance of cultural offerings to start off the New Year. There is a lot going on - everything from comedy shows to gallery crawls, to catching a hot new play at a small cozy theater. Mingle with artists at Unblurred, an art extravaganza that happens the first Friday of each month in the Garfield neighborhood. The crawl is hosted by a variety of artists and performers who open their doors to the public for views of their work. Take a stroll down Penn Avenue in the Bloomfield-Garfield area, where you’ll find a myriad of galleries. Explore the exhibitions at Silver Eye Center for Photography and experience the power of contemporary photography as a fine art medium. Duck into Bunker Projects, a contemporary art space specializing in installation and multidisciplinary work by independent artists who live and work on site. It’s free to see the exhibitions and a new show premieres monthly for the Unblurred Gallery Crawl. Stop at BOOM Concepts, a community organization created for the expansion of activity for artists, musicians and entrepreneurs who have common interests. The exhibits are inspiring. Arcade Comedy Theater offers hilarious Improv Pop Up Nights on the third Thursday of each month. Share your funny side by taking the monthly class that is open to everyone. January 17, February 21, March 21 and April 18. Enjoy great drama at Glitterbox Theater. Pittsburgh is home to some of the warmest people you will ever meet. Whether you are on a vacation, here for a business trip or convention or a local resident looking for fun things to do, we are happy to provide PLAY magazine to help you plan your time with us. Pittsburgh’s people make this place special. Our genuine interest in you, along with our authentic, hometown spirit and our willingness to go out of our way to help, are some of Pittsburgh’s best qualities. MIGHTY. BEAUTIFUL.

DELICIOUS.

Eat IT UP

Pittsburgh is often rated the No. 1 Food City in the United States. With so much to choose from, the good news is that there are three meals in a day, so you'll have lots of opportunities to explore the city's culinary scene. This quest might take you to a swanky hotel restaurant, or maybe a side-street gem with unbeatable sandwiches or a food truck with super fries.

Explore the Food Scene Whatever your inclination, Pittsburgh has the eatery to accommodate your schedule, palate and budget.
