ADVENTURES WITH KIDS

REDMOND IS PROUD OF ITS ABUNDANCE OF KID-FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES AND INCLUSIVE HOMETOWN FEEL.

Family is important here and by strengthening family bonds through activities, events and experiences, we ultimately strengthen our community.

Hope Playground is located in Sam Johnson Park and is fully ADA accessible. This special park has state of the art equipment, with a zip line, rock climbing, a merry go round and much more.

Centennial Park's Splash Park is located in downtown and is one of Redmond’s most popular features for kids and adults alike. Operational in the summer months, you'll find dozens of kids smiling with delight, as they playfully dodge rhythmical jets of water. The laughter and smiles are contagious, so beware, you might just start giggling uncontrollably.

Can you remember the day you caught your first fish? During the warm weather months, kids 13 and under can enjoy free fishing at Redmond's Fireman's Pond. This beloved community pond is actually a City park and is stocked each year by the Redmond Fire and Rescue Department. This is a community treasure and has created countless memories over the years.

If your child enjoys activities that border a little more on the extreme, then check out the BMX Park (at the High Desert Sports Complex), the pump track, and the Redmond Skate Park. These activities are wildly popular with the kids. Be safe out there, and don’t forget your protective equipment and sufficient guidance for the little ones.

For the young explorers in your family, take a quick drive out to the Redmond Caves, conveniently located on Airport Way between 6th and 13th — no spelunking experience necessary. The caves are relatively simple to access and are not too deep, though a good flashlight is recommended to help light your way. This is also a great activity to try out during heat of summer as the caves provide ample cool air.

During the colder winter months, the Redmond Ice Skating Rink (next to the Redmond Chamber of Commerce & CVB) draws a jubilant crowd of children, teens and people of all ages. Also, check out the nearby Holiday Village Market! Check out the Chamber's website at www.redmondbuzz.com to find information on the market and other events all year long!
