BLIDÖ – ISLAND IN THE SUN
The poet and publicist Ture Nerman knew that the sun on Blidö sets behind Sjöblom’s privy. Another person who has been inspired by the summers on the island of Blidö is author Tove Jansson, the creator of the Moomins. For the rest of us, it is high time we were inspired by Blidö’s coves and green meadows. It is easy to get to Blidö. By boat, car, bus or bicycle – whatever your mode of transport, on one of the archipelago’s larger islands you’re never far from the open sea, nice cliffs for sunbathing, and hiking trails. And the road from Penningby to the ferry is perhaps the most beautiful in Roslagen, winding past glistening waters, as well as fields and meadows, and across seven streams. Don’t miss the Helmi sailing boat in Stämmarsund, the Silversmith’s house with its art and guest studio, the Linkudden nature reserve and Bromskär right on the coast.
