More and more people are discovering Österbybruk’s manor house, forges, and industrial and park landscapes. The manor house is now attracting visitors with a fantasy tour back in time using your mobile phone. You are welcomed by the patron of the works, Per Adolf Tamm, at the entrance, land with Gustav Vasa in the Dannemora mine in the 16th century, and continue into the “manor room”, when Österby was owned by Louis de Geer from Belgium. The Grill family tells its story in the “Lady’s Bedchamber”. The story of opera singer Jenny Lind is told in the “Lady’s Parlor”. Her grand piano is still there, at the works. Österbybruk has been home to some of Sweden’s wealthiest families. That is why the whole place is so grand. In addition to the regular tours, it is also possible to customize your tour. If you want to feel the chills down your spine, there is a guided tour with lots of ghost stories, and if you are more interested in industrial history you can tailor your tour to that as well.
