Sheryl Crow To Headline The 2013 Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Festival (Sioux Falls, SD - 3/7/13) - Nine-time Grammy winner, Sheryl Crow will headline the Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Festival - JazzFest at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls on July 20, 2013. Crow will perform on Saturday evening of the annual summer festival. "We are pleased to once again align with Midcontinent Communications to present a world class headliner at JazzFest this July." said Robert Joyce, executive director of Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues. "Without the financial support we are receiving from Midcontinent Communications, the ability to bring a nationally known Grammy-winning artist like Sheryl Crow would not be possible.” Tom Simmons, Senior Vice President of Public Policy for Midcontinent Communications added, “Midcontinent is thrilled to sponsor Sheryl Crow as this year’s headliner for JazzFest 2013. She’s the whole package—a great songwriter, musician and performer—in rock, folk, pop and soul. We’re looking forward to a fabulous night of live music!” The Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Festival, JazzFest 2013 is a free, three day event held annually in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This year’s event is July 18-20, 2013 at Yankton Trail Park. Past performers include Joe Walsh, Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, The Neville Brothers, Robert Cray and Taj Mahal. JazzFest features a children’s area, food, booth and art vendors, fireworks and 2 stages of live music over three days. It is a free event, with support coming from donations, sponsorships, and the sale of beer and other beverages.


JazzFest attracts an average of 90,000 people each year and is considered one of the major events of the Sioux Falls summer. The festival is organized by the Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society and a group of 60 local committee members. Over 800 volunteers assist with JazzFest each year along with the support of various city departments. “Last year our festival broke attendance records with an estimated 125,000 people who attended over the three days,” said Joyce. “We are looking forward to similar numbers this July at Yankton Trail Park as we bring Sheryl Crow to our main stage.”
