Runway Intersection Project Fact Sheet The airport has scheduled a major construction project that will take place on two extended weekends in August and September 2012. This project will replace the concrete runway section that lies at the intersection of runways 321 and 15-33. This section of runway is over 30 years old and is in need of replacement. The remaining sections of runway are not long enough to accommodate commercial airlines while this area is closed. As a result there will be no commercial airline service while this project is underway. We will have a shorter runway; 9-27 that will be available for general aviation or air ambulance services.
The cost of this project is over $7.7 million dollars and is primarily funded by the FAAs Airport Improvement Program. Dates and Times of Closure August 17, 2012 (Friday 2pm CDST) Thru August 20 (Monday 8pm CDST) August 24, 2012 (Friday 2pm CDST) Thru August 20 (Monday 8pm CDST) September 7, 2012 (Friday 2pm CDST) Thru September 10 (Monday 8pm CDST) September 14, 2012 (Friday 2pm CDST) Thru September 17 (Monday 8pm CDST)
