Riverfront Park
With the Spokane River gorge at its center, Riverfront Park is the heart and soul of Spokane. Once a polluted rail yard, the park is central to daily life in the city. Built for Expo ‘74, the Spokane community convinced Great Northern Railway to donate the land that would become Riverfront Park. The Great Northern Clocktower still marks the skyline as a homage to Spokane’s railroad history. Today, Riverfront Park is booming with activity year-round. Visit the Numerica Skate Ribbon, take a ride over the Spokane Falls on the Numerica SkyRide or a spin on the historic Looff Carrousel. You can also stroll or bike the Centennial Trail along the river banks and make your way to the Howard Street Suspension Bridges for a spectacular view of the falls. Riverfront Park is the heart of the city and a must-stop on your Spokane itinerary.
