Visit Topeka employees, community members, and Washburn University jointly organized the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Indoor Track and Field Championships, held here at the beginning of March. The event was a success, with a total of 703 participating athletes from 51 institutions across 20 states. The championships allowed Topeka to demonstrate its hospitality toward visitors, and although the event will be held in other locations over the next two years, TASC has already been approached for a future bid, primarily due to the excellent experience provided to participants during the event weekend.

Usa Wrestling Of Kansas Folkstyle State Championships

OnFriday, March 10, 2,376 youth wrestlers from across Kansas descended on Topeka for the Folkstyle State Championships. The tournament spanned three days, beginning Friday night and ending Sunday afternoon. Over the course of the event, talented youth athletes competed to claim the title of state champion. The tournament organizers, USA Wrestling of Kansas, were pleased with the success of this year's event and have already begun preparations for the 2024 installment, which promises to be even bigger and better. With the Stormont Vail Events Center set to host again, this tournament will surely be a highlight for wrestling enthusiasts and participants.
