Garden Itinerary A journey of exquisite gardens, fresh produce, nature and history

Day 1 Along the Trail Grab a hearty breakfast before embarking on a journey of nature, history, and family at Anne Springs Close Greenway. Nestled amid strawberry fields and peach orchards, the greenway contains native plants and animals, historic buildings and a network of trails. Before leaving the Fort Mill area, enjoy lunch at The Peach Stand. This local favorite has fresh locally grown produce, a custom butcher shop, a grocery store with gourmet items, a restaurant and deli, a bakery, and an ice cream shop. Next stop, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden (Gastonia, NC / 25 miles from Rock Hill) was named one of the nation’s 20 Great Gardens in HGTV’s popular book, Flower Gardening, and is situated on 380 acres along the banks of Lake Wylie. Enjoy a 1.5 hour tour led by trained Garden Guides. Choose either the General Garden Tour or the Woodland Trail Tour.

Day 2 Flowers, Flowers, Flowers! After a cozy night’s sleep head out to Glencairn Garden. This four season garden includes 11–acres of fountains, lily ponds and paths that wind through azaleas, dogwoods, wisteria, and many other beautiful flowers, shrubs and trees. Hope you are hungry! The Garden Café is beautifully decorated inside and out. With tasty and affordable food and excellent service, eating here is not just a meal, it's an experience! Also, save time to visit the Market Gift Shop where you will find some very unique handmade gifts. Hear from the expert “Bee Ladies” from MamaBeehive’s Honey Farm, who are certified Journeyman Beekeepers. Learn about the habitat and culture of the honey bees, colony living, and pollination. Explore retired bee hives to see how bees live when they are managed by beekeepers and when they live in the wild.

Day 3 Pick Your Own Before heading home, experience a ‘pick your own’ opportunity at Bush-n-Vine Farm, Black’s Peaches & The Cotton Belt Bakery, or Windy Hill Orchard and Cider Mill. Depending on the time of year, fresh strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, peaches, apples and pumpkins are available to pick and take home with you! Did you know that a strawberry is the only fruit with the seeds on the outside? If there’s time, schedule an educational tour to learn about the life cycle of the plants and farm life!
