How to Make a Line Graph How to Make a Line Graph Today we are going to discuss that How to Make a Line Graph but before that we have to know about line graph. Line graph is a graphical manner to show change over a period of time through lines within a given points. When we make a line graph we get a visual feel of how our data is changing during a regular interval of time. Line graphs are basically used to plot changes in data over a period of time such as daily changes in stock market and temperature changes etc. it is a also used to hold data record after an experiments such as how temperature changes in the atmosphere. It is similar to all other graphs where all the values been plotted between the horizontal and vertical axis which we generally known as x- axis and y-axis. After connecting all the individual data points we can clearly show changes that occur such as atmospheric pressure changes, stock changes and pollution and etc.

There are some certain rules by which we create line graph: In staring while creating a line graph we have to use appropriate data from the table to choose the right scale. and it should necessary that scale starts from zero . After that we have to draw and label on the up-down direction. It means draw vertical scale. Next we have to draw horizontal scale. And list the name of each and every item. When the item been listed, locate all the points on the graph. And join all the points with a line segment. At last write title name on the line graph. To understand that properly we just take an example of temperature data list of a week of Sydney. And we have to plot a line graph of temperature within seven day. If the temperatures of respective days are 43F, 53F, 50F, 50F, 57F, 59F and 67F in then that case we have to create a line graph. In that we first put all the point according to its location on the horizontal and vertical line .After that we join all the points 43, 53, 50,57,59,67 which are in Fahrenheit through a line segment. So the line segment which been created passes through first 43 and after that 53, 50, 57, 59, 67 respectively. Same as above example we take an another example of line graph where after a deep research of environment we found that from year 2000 to 2011 the atmospheric pressure changes are as follows 110kPa, 116kPa, 117kPa , 119kPa, 121kPa ,123kPa ,124kPa , 127kPa ,129kPa ,131kPa ,133kPa. Now we have to create a line graph through following statistics:For this first we create a scale on both directions horizontal and vertical. it means we have to create a scale in on x – axis and y – axis . After that we have to plot all the atmospheric statistics according to the particular year.

After that we join all the points 10kPa, 116kPa, 117kPa, 119kPa, 121kPa, 123kPa, 124kPa, 127kPa, 129kPa, 131kPa, 133kPa though a line segment which shows a change in environment during past eleven years. So after using a line graph it is very easy to draw a change in statistics during past time. So it is very effective technique. Make a Double Line Graph How to make a Double Line Graph: Step 1: Use the data from the table to choose an appropriate scale. Step 2: Draw and label the scale on the vertical and horizontal axis. Step 3: List the each item and locate the points on the graph for both the lines. Step 4: Connect the points with line segments separately of both the lines. Step 5: Draw two line graphs within one chart.
