Circumference of Circle Formula Circumference of Circle Formula Today we are going to study about Circumference Formula of a Circle. A circle is combination of all points which are at same distance from the center and that distance makes a closed curve which is called circumference of the circle. These are defined by length around the circle; in this way we can say circumference is one of the parts of circle. Circle is geometric shape formed by infinite points which are same distance from a fixed point; circumference is nothing just distance around the circle. The distance from one point to another point across a circle through the center is called diameter. ‘?’ is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to the diameter of circle. (Where ‘?’ is a constant value which is equal to 3.14159) now we see below the relationship of the expression, Constant value = circumference/diameter = C / d = ?, Where ‘C’ is circumference and d is diameter of the circle. The circumference formula can be write like circumference(C) = ?*d (Here circumference value is equal to multiplication of constant value and diameter of a circle).

Now we see circumference formula in terms of radius, we know diameter is double of any circle it means diameter is multiplication of radius by 2. So circumference of a circle is multiplying of radius and constant value by 2. Diameter = 2 (radius), d = 2r, C = ?*2r, C =2?r, The circumference of a circle is measured in linear from so circumference unit is inches, centimeter, meter. For better understanding we are going to learn basic circumference based example Now we are going to follow the below example. Example 1: Find the circumference of circle. Where circle radius is 20 cm? Solution: For finding circumference of circle we need to write the circumference formula. Circumference (C) = 2? (radius) = 2?r, In this problem we have given radius of circle is 20 cm. Circumference (c) = 2? (20), C = 40(3.14),

In this way we get circumference of a circle C = 12.560cm Example 2: Find the circumference of circle. Where circle diameter is 10cm and also finds the radius of circle? Solution: For finding circumference of circle we need to write the circumference formula. Circumference (C) = ? (diameter)= 2d In this problem we have given radius of circle is 10 cm Circumference (c) = 2(10), C = 20cm, In this way we get circumference of a circle C = 20cm. Now we find the radius of circle. We know radius of circle is just half of diameter of al circle. It means the formula radius d = 2r. r = diameter/2, Radius (r) = 10/2 = 5, After solving we got radius of circle r = 5.
