What Is A Heptagon What Is A Heptagon In mathematics, there are various kinds of geometrical shapes are defined that are formed with the help of straight lines. Polygon is a geometrical shape which is constructed by using three or more straight lines. Polygons are formed by the straight lines that generate the closed geometrical figure. According to the Euclidean geometry, polygon is two dimensional shapes which are formed by the number of line segments. In polygon, number of line segment are equal to the number of vertices of the polygons. Polygon is a traditional plane figure which is bounded by the ‘n’ numbers of line segments. In the polygon, the no. of line segments is popularly known as the edges because it is responsible for connecting two points of the polygon. In the same aspect the connecting points of the polygon are known as vertex. In the polygon there is no limit for the no of line segment to form a geometrical shape. A polygon can contain n numbers of line segment which is popularly known as n-gon shape. If any shape contains 15 line segments then it can be called as fifteen gon polygon.

There are different types of polygon are defined. Regular polygon is one of the type of polygon. Regular polygon is a polygon which follows the property of equiangular and equilateral polygon. It means to say that a regular polygon is a polygon in which all the sides as well as all the angles are equal in measure. When we are going to discussing about the regular polygon on the basis of line segment then question arises in our mind that What is a Heptagon. Heptagon is a type of regular polygon with the seven equal sides and seven equal angles. In regular polygon, we can define the heptagon with seven equal sides and seven equal angles. In mathematics, sometime the shape of heptagon is popularly known as heptagon. The reason is that heptagon contains the seven equal sides into it. In heptagon all the line segments are connected by the seven different vertex point. In heptagon the no. of vertex point and no of line segment are same. In the same time a question arises that what is the measurement of each angle in the heptagon. Then the solution is that all the angles of the heptagon are similar to each other. So, we need to find the value of one angle after that we get the value of another angle. In below we show you the process of finding the value of an angle in heptagon. The formula for calculating the value of an angle in regular polygon: (side – 2) * 180 / side In the above formula side refers to the no of sides in the regular polygon. Through the above formula we can get the value of an angle.

As we know that heptagon contains the seven sides into it. The value of an angle in heptagon is: ð

(7 – 2) * 180o / 7

ð

5 * 180o / 7

ð

128.5714o

On the basis of above calculation we can say that all the angles of regular polygon contains the measure of 128.5714o.
