Find the Circumference of a Circle Find the Circumference of a Circle In the mathematical area geometry is the indivisible part of the mathematics. Math's without geometry is like a incomplete resource. In geometry we study about the different shapes which exist in our environment. Through the mathematics we just study about the different types of shapes their creations and calculating their values means area, perimeter and circumference of the shape. Here we are going to study about the process of finding the circumference of the circle. Before going forward we will describe about the circle and their aspect. Circle is nothing it is just a simple closed curve shape which divide the plane into two regions. It mean the inside part of closed shape is known as interior phase and outer part is known as exterior phase. In a general mean circle can be simply described as a round figure shape which has equal distance from each point of the boundary of the circle. The above diagram shows various new things which are very useful to understand the concept of circle. This diagram also helps to understand the criteria of circumference of the circle. The description of above points are given below:

Center: it is the center point of the circle. Radius: it is the distance from center to any point of surface of circle. Circumference: can be described as a boundary of a circle. Diameter: it can be described as a line from one surface point to another surface point through the center. Chord: It is also like a diameter but this line does not penetrate the central line. Now we come to our point to Find the Circumference of a Circle. To the definition point of view circumference can simply be defined as a single round to the boundary of the circle. It means that to calculate the value of the boundary of the circle. The formula for calculating the circumference of the circle is given below: Circumference of circle : 2?r Here r = radius of circle ? = value of pi = 22/7 By applying the simple formula we can obtain the value of circumference of the circle. Here are some examples given below through which circumference can quite be simpler for the students to understand. Example 1: find the diameter of circle if radius is 5 cm? Solution: diameter d = 2 * r

= 2 * 5 =10cm Example 2: find the circumference of the circle if the radius is 2.5cm? Solution: circumference of the circle = 2 ? r = 2* 22/7 * 2.5 = 15.71429cm Example 3: find the circumference of the circle if the diameter is 3 cm? Solution: circumference of the circle = 2 ? r = 2 * 3.14 * 3/2 (note: ? = 22/7 = 3.14 Radius = diameter / 2) = 9.42 cm
