What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery? Small island, desolate town or distant boat-trip. No return ticket and no back-up plan Where would you like to live? A loft in New York and/or a farm-com-painting-studio in the country side
Who are your favorite heroines in real life? Except from the fabulous suffragettes of Great Britain and the female liberation movement in our own country in the 60s and 70s, I used to admire 80s and 90s Madonna for her strength, ruthlessness, business savvy and sense of fashion. Today, I don’t really have any strong admiration for anybody in the media spotlight. It is all kind of blah.
What is your idea of earthly happiness? An overgrown fantasy garden
Who are your favorite heroines of fiction? Modesty Blaise, Lisbeth Salander and Tank Girl
To what faults do you feel most indulgent? Big steps
Your favorite musician? The good ones?
Who are your favorite heroes of fiction? I have none Who are your favorite characters in history? Leonardo da Vinci, the Suffragettes and Gandhi
The quality you most admire in a man? Compassion The quality you most admire in a woman? Strenght

Your favorite virtue? Kindness
Your most marked characteristic? I am full of surprises
greater sense of tolerance for each other. We are not all alike, even if our country is based on a social democratic view of averageness, likeness and democracy. I lived abroad for several years, and often find myself missing the openness towards different counterpoints, personalities, backgrounds and cultures in our country. Also, we are kind of stuck in our ways, when it comes to creative businesses. Nobody becomes an artist by getting a BA or MA in fine arts. Art does not exist on a piece of paper, it lives in your heart and soul.
What do you most value in your friends? Their open minds and warm hearts
What is your favorite color? Green
What is your dream of happiness? Total freedom, health, respect, success, love, good friends and closeness to nature
What is your favorite flower? Lilies
Your favorite occupation? The good life Who would you have liked to be? I am content being myself
What to your mind would be the greatest of misfortunes? War, waste and death In what country would you like to live? To be born in Norway is like winning the Lottery - in so many ways! Still, I sometimes wish we had a
What is your favorite bird? Eagle Who are your favorite prose writers? My mom, Elisabeth Marstrander, who wrote the small collection “Den Låste Sorgen” / Solum Forlag. It is beautiful, quirky and sad – all at the same time.

Who are your favorite poets? Most of the Beat Poets, also Sam Shephard, Andre Bjercke, Walter Whitman, Arnulf Øverland and Bob Dylan Who are your favorite painters? I love Jean Fouquet, Edvard Munch and Egon Schiele. The crazy colorists have always been my favorites. I also like several pop-art artists, like Basquiat, Warhol, Lichtenstein and Rauschenberg. My favorite conceptual installation artist at the moment is Chinese Ai weiwei. Who are your heroes in real life? I don’t have any heroes or heroines. What are your favorite names? I don’t have any What is it you most dislike? Lack of basic manners, environmental wastefulness and misuse of authority and power – hereunder suppression of knowledge and education. What historical figures do you most despise? Adolf Hitler What event in military history do you most admire?
None, in contrary, I admire the non-military and antiviolent events in history. What reform do you most admire? The abolition of slavery, and the introduction of female liberation in the Western World. What natural gift would you most like to possess? Healing powers, perhaps. How would you like to die? With a smile on my lips What is your present state of mind? Relaxed What is your motto? I have none, I just try to live from day to day, and gradually become a better person, take care of people around me, and be the best version of myself that I can. I still fail miserably from time to time, but I believe I am a nicer person now than 10 years ago, so I guess it is kind of working… slowly :-)

Paperjam “Paperjam is a never-before-published comic strip! Hilde did the project for fun, and to let out some steam. Paperjam is largely about the fashion industry, where she has been working since her teenage years. The characters are modeled on actual personalities and typical dialogues behind the scenes of the industry in Norway.
“What Makes a Man? is an ink drawing on paper, measuring 3,5 meters in length. It came to be, during a weekend in the mountains by her self. And several bottles of red wine.
Sara “Sara was a project commissioned by Bokklubben (National Book club), and was to depict a pre-teen girl and her social and reading habits.
