Precious Metal Paints (Rose, Green & Cinnamon ) by Viva Decor Approximately one year ago, while at a tradeshow, Bajidoo discovered a fabulous art and craft supplier from Germany. The company is Viva Decor. Viva is quite popular in Europe but lesser known here in the United States. All that will change soon enough! When it comes to inspiration all that is necessary to get the creativity flowing is a bottle of Precious Metals. The colors are so vivid and true to their descriptive names that the metallic qualities are just one notch over the top on the scale of wowness! The Steel Poppies bangle design was born of the inspiration found in a bottle of Precious Metals paint. Now we offer you the opportunity to find the same amazing results in your projects by trying out our project using Precious Metal colors by Viva Decor.

Step #1 Starting at the edge of your bangle blank and working inward to the middle paint just one side of the bangle blank with your precious metals "Green" color. you can use a paint brush or a damp sponge for this effect. (As shown below) Stay to one side - working your way completely around the bangle. The with your "warm" color (cinnamon) repeat the same process around the other side. When you have completed this step you will have a bangle painted half green and half gold, just as in the photo above.

Step #2 Once your first two colors have dried completely, glaze the entire surface with a light coat of white (mother of Pearl). Don't forget to start with a damp sponge. If you use a paint brush it is recommended that you lightly spritz the two tone bangle with a little water to keep the glaze moving until it looks the way you want.

Step #2- continued Your bangle should look something like this when you have completed this step.

You will be able to tell when your decal is ready to apply when you can gently nudge the decal by lightly touching the surface and pushing the film image just a little ...it should move (slide).

When your decal has come loose from the backing paper you can apply it to the painted bangle base.

Step #3 Apply your art design, we are using a Bajidoo Steel Poppies Art Decal. For the decal prep - be sure the decal is trimmed of most of the excess paper surrounding the design itself. Leave a small amount of paper as an edge to help reduce the tendency for the decal to curl on itself while your applying it. Now turn the decal over spritz the backing paper of the decal until it is soaked to the edges then set aside face up for about 45 second to a full min.

Once you have slide the decal off the paper backing and onto your painted bangle you should carefully smooth out any bubbles by carefully nudging them to the edges of the design. You Bangles should now look like this;

Project Materials: Using your fine brush, paint the petals in, on each flower all the way around the bangle. Just follow your decals like a coloring book. If you accidentally go over the lines of the decal design no worries, you can fix that later with a Sharpie Pen touch up.

To begin with you must gather up all your materials. Start by selecting a bangle blank. That is a wood bangle that is unfinished and ready to paint. Materials List: 1) Bangle Blank of your choice 2) Precious Metals ColorsGreen ( Emerald or Gold Green) White (Mother of Pearl) Pink (Rose or Pink) Warm (Cinnamon) 3) Glass Effects Black Pink Amber Purple (Violet or Blackberry) 4) Accents Bajidoo Art Decals (Steel Poppies Design) Translucent Micro Glitter (not pictured) Swarovski Crystals (Optional) 5) Tools Sharpie fine line BLACK permanent marker (not picture) Sponges Paint brushes (fine - med - wide) Small spray bottle for spritzing water

Let the petals dry completely - it will only take a few min. Once the petals are dry - time to add an accent color to your design. Continue around the bangle until the entire surface is covered by your poppy design. This design requires a kit of three poppy decals to go all the way around the bangle. Step #4 Time to paint the petals of our poppies. We chose pink. You can paint them whatever color you like.

Step #5 Add accent paint with Precious Metals in "Cinnamon", once again using your fine brush, run a thin line of cinnamon along the outer edge of each flower petal and down the center of each leaf.

This is the first opportunity to add sparkle to your design. After you apply the thin layer of gloss but before it dries lightly sprinkle a cost of translucent micro glitter over the outer most edge of the bangle (do this without covering over your flowers by tipping the bangle end up as if you looking through the bangle like a tube) sprinkling over the open throat of the bangle the glitter will only adhere to the outer edge and fall away from the center design without sticking. Let the bangle dry completely once more.

If during Step #5 you accidentally painted over the outline of the flower petals you can now use the sharpie marker to draw them back in. You can add any accents you'd like. When your done, it is time to put some dimensional accent paint on your design to further enhance it's eye catching appeal. Step #8 Using glass effects paints in Amber, Black, Pink and Purple to raise the bar on your design. First carefully apply a dot of Amber glass effects paint to each of the center open circles in the poppies on your bangle: .

Step #7a. ADDING ACCENTS AND CORRECTING OVER PAINTING MISTAKES: Now take your fine point sharpie marker and embellish the center of each petal of the flowers, as shown below:

When your done ...touch a small dot of amber to each little curly que at the edges of your poppies. Let the Amber paint dry completely.

The accent any other areas you think would enhance your design.

You can see here that we placed a black dot in a few strategic points of the flowers center and at the very ends of some of the petal embellishments. Final Step #9 one more coat of High gloss sealant should be brushed over the entire outer surface of the bangle and let dry overnight. When you wake up the bangle will be shiny and ready to wear! or to be given as a fantastic gift. CHEERS!! From Bajidoo.
