Italian, and particularly Tuscan whites, are often overlooked, which is a shame, as their indigenous varieties like Vernaccia offer a wealth of discovery. This has typically light fruit. Fresh, good, clean, fun.

Very pale with only a hint of colour in the glass, this has a wonderful zing of citrus of limes on the nose, developing to peachy notes in the glass. The first impression on the palate is of a crisp minerality which then fills out with to more luscious, slightly tropical flavours. Elegant and delicious.

The wine is made from 100% Viura 40 year old vines in the Maria Antonia vineyard, but currently only 1ha of the 5ha is used for the production of this wine. Pale, lemon gold with gold and lime tints. Melon and peach kernel on the nose, minerality and freshness on the palate with some background texture and slight viscosity.

The Droin’s have been producing wines in Chablis for nearly 400 years. Jean-Paul Droin and his son who is now the 13th generation of growers and is one of the most dynamic in the region. Pale yellow-green. Melon, mint and stone on the nose. Rich and juicy, with good limey lift to the flavour of white peach. Finishes with good breadth and length, with emerging minerality.

Tightly structured and has typical mineral overtones with complex fruit and toasty, spicy oak well integrated. Very intense, pure with penetrating concentration.

The Aprilskloof is a blend of Pinotage, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Grenache, Shiraz, Viognier and Carignan. Full-bodied with a deep ruby colour, this wine displays a potpourri of forest berry aromas. Soft, silky tannins and a fine balance.

Drawn from an Indian recipe, this creation is made of Indian spices embellished with ginger bits, clove, red peppers and cardamom. Boil some milk, put Anichai tea in it, wait for 5 minutes, filter it and add sugar if needed.
