Brian Rahm, New York State Water Resources Institute (WRI) The WRI is partnering with the Finger Lakes Institute at Hobart and William Smith Colleges to put together the event: “Year of Water” for 2019-2020.
Learn
Increase awareness and knowledge of natural and built water systems and how they are intertwined with our lives.
Envision
Celebrate our water resources and confront the challenges facing them, all towards answering the question: how can we act to preserve our water and ensure access for all?

EXPOSING THE INVISIBLE POWER OF WATER IN A YEAR Water, a silent and powerful force, is constantly working behind the scenes. Drop exposes the invisible powers of water: nourishment, electricity, and cooling.

To instill awareness and a sense of appreciation towards water and its versatile functions. Engage users of all ages with easily comprehensible information Provide an immersive experience that amplifies the appreciation of Cornell’s water resources. Increase user conscientiousness and understanding of the process water goes through to provide electricity, drinking water, and cooling.

5/21/19-8/11/19 Audience: Ithaca residents will be able to take advantage of the summer months while at the park.

8/21/19-11/21/19 Audience: Students living off-campus and visitors walk through the bridge to advantage of the views while touring the university.

4/11/20-5/11/20 Audience: Foot traffic from students, primarily freshman, increase over the warmer months. 12/1/19-3/21/20 Audience: Ithaca residents, students, and visitors can visit the museum while escaping the cold weather.
