TILBURY
Copy of the Tilbury brief (below). Emilia Brookes is a lecturer in Environment and Society at the University of Essex. She is writing a book which records her thoughts whilst walking along the coastal areas of Essex. She has been inspired by a book entitled ‘The Luminous Coast’ by Jules Pretty which records his walks along the coastal areas of East Anglia (Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk). Pretty used his own photographs to illustrate his book but Brookes has decided to commission photographers to provide the images. She has invited photographers to submit images to be included in the book. The photographs should be visually engaging and encourage the reader to visit the area but they should remain true to the place. The book will attract a wide range of readers as it covers aspects of history, nature and environment.
6 – 8 edited photographs from Tilbury.
