Egg promotion event with live cooking Thursday, 3 October - free of charge The Square (outside) at 15.00 by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Rwanda, Abusol, GAIN and VIV worldwide
Egg consumption on the African continent is low. This is due to misconceptions and lack of knowledge about the nutritional value of eggs. Did you know that » eggs stand out positively when compared to other sources of animal protein. When it comes to nutritional value, an egg lies between milk and beef (Piet Simons, 2017*); » eggs contain a lot of protein. Proteins satisfy hunger more effectively than other nutrients like carbohydrates or fat. In other words; it takes longer for a person to become hungry again after a protein rich meal (Piet Simons, 2017)*; » eggs contain almost all of the vitamins except vitamin C. It is also a good source of iron, zinc and iodine (Piet Simons, 2017*). The high protein, iron, and vitamins A and B content make eggs a very good alternative for meat. Come to our Egg promotion event on the 3rd of October at 15 o’clock on The Square to hear more from Dr. Piet Simons, President of the Foundation for Promoting Poultry Science and ambassador of Dutch Poultry Centre in the Netherlands and author of book Egg Signals; and from Mr. Idowu Asenuga, Entrepreneur, National President of the Association of Family Business Owners and Public Relations Executive Poultry Association Nigeria (PAN). * Source: Egg signals [Book] / auth. Piet Simons Ton van Schie, Jolanda Holleman. - Zutphen, the Netherlands : Roodbont Publishers B.V., 2017.
