URBAN SHIP Multifunctional building

SIZE: 4200 m2 LOCATION: Milan, Italy DATE: October 2016 – August 2017 TUTOR: Lorenzo Degli Esposti

Residential OďŹƒces Commercial

CONCEPT Situated in the Lodi District of Milan, this multifunctional building brings together residential, retail and office spaces. The project includes thirty apartments of different size, five floors for offices and the ground floor is left for shops and catering places.

The concept of the project is based on the internationally acclaimed architect Peter Eisenman's ideas Close Reading and Formal Analysis. The analyses move through history and conclude with examples of high modernism and postmodernism. Following this idea, the building is designed as a Ship in the City attracting people and bringing new sense to the site.

HIDDEN VILLAGE GUEST HOUSES

SIZE: 1300 m2 LOCATION: Munich, Germany DATE: January – August 2018 TUTOR: Dietrich Fink

CONCEPT The project is a complex of private houses for professors who come to Munich for long-term work at the nearby university. After survey analysis of the neighbohoods we decided to somewhat dissolve the complex in the park in order not to change current architectural view of the site and not to distorb people living nearby. In this way we came up with the idea of "Hidden village" with the function of guest house inside the ring of the private residential buildings. With respect to the nature, one-story houses situated around existing trees. In their shape, the buildings look like a family-house with pitched roof what is also reects the character of this district.

BLUE MONDAY INTERIOR DESIGN The concept of the project is to create an interior strongly related to the history of the building from 1950s with the use of clear lines, geometrical curves and color principles of mid-century modern design. According to the local construction laws we had to keep the original layout of the apartment. Existing corridor, that worked only as a ďŹ lter between day and night sone, acquired additional function of wordrobe. Glass and reecting surfaces are used for to visually enlarge the space and hide the imperfection of the morally outdated layout.

LIFE ON MARS INTERIOR DESIGN

The apartment is located in one of the oldest districts of Moscow, which took key place in urban planing and city development in 1950s. The fact inspired us to bring mid-century atmosphere to this new building to connect the past and the future in order to emphasize the connection of urban, architecture and interior. Comfortable circulation and separation of the day zone from the night one is a result of a complete redesign of the original layout. Furniture and art objects have a special place in the concept of the project. Modern furniture and family relics from the Soviet past of the client are arranged around the rooms like suspended objects in the space without gravity under the comon sky of red planet.
