BETHUNE COOKMAN UNIVERSITY STUDENT REC CENTER_ Competition project Daytona Beach, Florida
The design brief asks for a 3600 sf state of the art Student Rec Center located in the middle of the vibrant campus of Bethune Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. In this competion project, the design teams aims to design a building that is complimentary as well as a contemporary neighbor to the more traditional buildings that exist on campus. The live trees on campus were to be saved and worked around. The facilities that were included in the new building included a Gym, Swimming pool, Hair Salon, Food court, game room and a housing block. The site and traffic patterns surrounding the site was studied to a great extent and a lot of thought was put into the flow of pedestrians in and through the building. A seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces was achieved by stepping the landscape up into a raised terrace atop which the main Rec Center is designed.

OFFICE FOR CIQA, Pemex Laboratories Mérida, Yucatán, México
The new centre of research and technological development of CIQA whose design was carried out with the consultancy of the design team at Moody.Nolan. Research on a laboratory scale was done in order to provide the client with the program they required. Our main aim was to offer the Mexican oil industry, PEMEX, facilities, equipment and specialized staff to respond to the needs of advanced technology that industry requires in order to meet the continuous challenges in terms of exploration, production and processing of oil and gas and their derivatives.
PROTOTYPING THE DOMESTIC ENVIROMENT FURNITURE/ PRODUCT DESIGN SALONE INTERNAZIONALE DEL MOBILE EXHIBIT, April 2012
A deisgn-build project focussing on the formal adaptation of utilitarian furniture pieces into domestic spatial components. The final product was exhibited at the SALONE INTERNAZIONALE DEL MOBILE, Milan in April 2012. The objective was to question the extent that a particular shape could be repurposed- in size, use and context. Spiral stack was designed and built to be an interactive and modular piece of furniture , primarily a space seperator which has many uses in different configurations. Each unit of the whole piece can be pulled out at different angles about its pivot and serve different functions such as table, chair, storage shelves, working surfaces, a habitat etc.The driving idea of this design is derived from the form of a linear bookshelf.

Pros: • Two level building allows less site disturbance. • Better views of the site from the second level • Close to Evarts Street • Potential space for murals on building or adjacent retaining walls • Natural light for activity spaces • Prominent building in the community • Building built into the site Cons: • Additional cost to for elevator • Main entrance is not close to onsite parking spaces
Option 3_ 2.5 Storeys
This option is a two and half level building which sits in the center of the site, similar placement as the other two options. Pros: • Natural light enters Atrium from all hours of the day. • Secured access to the urban from building • Prominent terrace at the entry level Cons: • Main entry is not off plaza • Two entrances at different levels • Addition Additional cost to for elevator • No access to the urban farm from the site only from inside the building • Building not built into the site

MERRYMAKERS APARTMENT COMPLEX
Columbus, Ohio
MOODY NOLAN INC. HOUSING
Micro-Units-Rental Apartments are the recent and rapid transformation of urban living, driven by the desire among younger people (the millennial generation in particular) to enjoy the emerging live/walk/work lifestyle. About the size of a hotel room, these developments represent a small but growing niche of the real estate multi-housing market. These miniscule living units seem ideally suited to young people who are mobile, come and (mostly) go and live the “18-hour” lifestyle of the modern urban townscape. The attendant attractiveness of urban living can’t be stressed too much when it comes to micro-units. Besides the affordability issue of small-space living, millennials in particular are trading off space for work proximity and a flexible lifestyle. In many cases, they’re graduating from school or entering their first jobs, signing leases and moving in with only a suitcase. Smaller units enjoy higher overall occupancy rates than mid-sized or larger units, and calculates that rental prices of these units-averaging $2.647 per sq. ft.-are up to 81percent higher than larger units.
The End.
