the challenge Norwegian Air believes in affordable travel without sacrificing safety and friendly service. With multiple flights around the world, Norwegian Air has become the leading low-cost airline in Europe. To better stand out they wish to establish a more authentic connection with their passengers that better reflects their accommodating and friendly travel experience.

Our mission is to create a visual identity that evokes a friendly atmosphere that is authentic to Norwegian Air. By using one of Norway’s most distinguishing features as a conceptual and visual motif, we aspire to highlight Norwegian’s core values and uniqueness while modernizing the brand in order to build a solid connection with their costumers.

new identity The new identity is inspired by the Northen Lights in form, color and feel. The lettermark is created through the use of organic, curved shapes and it is pared with a geometric grotesque typeface to construct a lockup. Additionally, the gradient colors are informed by the most commom range wof colors depicted in the Aurora Borealis.

GT Haptik is a geometric sans-serif typeface released by Grilli Type in 2010. The letterforms have a strange, quirky and almost avant garde shape. Which brings a friendly yet unique personality to Norwegian Air.
