Springtime in Paris - an iconic phrase, but how much do you really know about the most famous French city? The land along the Seine River was first settled nearly three hundred years BCE by the Parisii, a tribe of peaceful Celtic fishermen. The peace lasted just two hundred years until the conquering Romans came plundering. Enter the King of the Franks (aka French) who retook the land and named it Paris. Hundred Years’ War against the English (thanks in part to Joan of Arc), followed by more plague and more conflict between Catholics and Protestants. All this upheaval forged the French spirit. A proud people, fierce in their defense of their country and culture, the French have celebrated life against a backdrop of war and hardship. We have seen over the past year how tie-dye has exploded in popularity. Paris Mallard has a very subtle tie-dye print, which perfectly suits those of you who prefer the tone-on-tone effect. Jewel-tone lovers - this fabric is ideal for you! Enjoy the allway stretch and soft hand.

Thinking ahead to warmer weather, make some drawcord, loose pants from Paris Terre, a substantial weight cotton gauze. We love it’s texture, rich brown color, and breathability. Top it off with Paris Unique. A crumpled, textured, abstract printed sheer has been stitched to a base layer all-way stretch knit, creating a super cool looking wearable art piece. Hurry and order early - we can’t re-order! If you still need a spring jacket, make an oragami or boxy short jacket from the gauze to complete your ensemble.

Our Louis Collection is a mash-up of two smaller collections. Begin with Louis Piqué, a textured stretch poly-cotton blend from Italy. This begs to be a jacket or lined skirt to wear with Louis Impression, an abstract coral and purple floral on a blue-grey background. This print is extra wide, so chances are you will be able to get your front, back, and possibly the sleeves cut from one length. Now feel Louis Regal and imagine wearing it as shorts, Capris, slacks, a golf skirt, and even a button down top to wear over the knit print on chilly nights when a jacket might be overkill.
